The twenty-seventh and penultimate entry in ZU's Phantom Hourglass visual walkthrough is all about the final fight - Bellum vs. Link on the Ghost Ship. Who will be victor? I think we all know.

I love how Bellum turns Linebeck into a Phantom for this fight. The entire game you've been unable to even scratch one, while they can easily clobber you on sight. Now, you're told to go beat one for the final boss. It's daunting, as you've never been able to hit one, but it's so satisfying to finally take this guy down after being hunted by the Phantoms for the entire game.

Yep. They can also be stunned by either hitting them in the back with a Power-upgraded normal sword or by shooting them there with an arrow. Granted, if one's facing you there's not much you can do to it.

@@lorelo. yeah, on the final floor, the end of the game. And even then- you probably only defeated them because you can hide from them and they aren't always aware of where you are. That changes in this fight. Linebeck is attacking you, you can't escape and he always knows where you are.

I already thought he was awesome because we have scarily similar taste in clothing, and I honestly love chaotic neutral type characters, ( or is he chaotic good? I’m really not sure, I just love chaotic types)so there was that... but when he impaled bellum’s limb with the phantom sword, I knew I had a new favourite character.

I know that its been 12 years, but I learned this trick when fighting him: When he does a spin attack, answer with one of your own. If you connect, you can get a chance for another phantom sphere.

I remember figuring that out many years ago. I think I just thought that his spin attack reminded me of my own great spin attack, so I copied him and found out I could do that.

@@rac1equalsbestgame853 you get it from that fisherman on the big island in the Northwest sea. The island that had the “mermaid”. It’s part of long sidequest where you get an item from someone, bring it someone and switch with another, etc. I can’t remember if that’s where it starts, but if it isn’t, you can look up where the first item is and the rest shouldn’t be too hard.

Reason I think Bellum possessed Linebeck. After the temple fight, and the Ghost Ship's destruction Bellum was in a weakened state, so he grabbed Terra and Link as they both had powerful Lifeforces, he was busy trying to decide who to absorb first, then Linebeck stabbed him severely wounding Bellum. Bellum being on his last legs possessed the closest person to him to keep himself alive, that happened to be Linebeck.

Glad I wasn't the only one who knew about this. I picked up a scroll somewhere in the game and it made Link acquire the huge Sword Spin attack skill. One instance, while fighting possessed Linebeck I did the Sword Spin attack the same time he tornado-spinned, only then I realized it was the counter-attack.

I played this final boss so many times over and over again as a child, and I eventually found this out on my own but didn’t use it much because I wanted to avoid the hand movement as much a possible (it gets a little tiring after a while).

I know this is a DS game but Wind Waker Link got shorter and his hairstyle is plasted. Still this was my first Zelda game when I was 6. Now i'I'm 14 and I played and beat all of the games (including remakes) My #1 favorite has to be Wind Waker or Twilight Princess. I hope theres a Zelda U announcement when I turn 15 in July.

..I literally could not pass this, but either couldn't -- or refused to -- look up a guide for some reason. This was back in 2006 to 2007. I completed the WHOLE GAME *EXCEPT* this guy, leaving the fight behind and simply happening to never come back, until now. ..Now it's 2020. After over a decade, i rematch him one last time. EDIT: Victory, drawing the 8-shapes was a bit of a nightmare though, but it worked out.

K so except writing 8 which sometimez helps if i write Z and the join edges. I wasnt able to make swords rub, he killed me with rapid slashes whenever i was hitting him very fast sooo whoever has same problem - u need to tap him not swipe like i did. It appears i wasnt tapping on enemies during all game. Once i get that it was easy but you might want also buy some potion in nearest village

I love this game so much, way better than the soundtrack to it, there was original ideas and it had a great soundtrack and great characters as it stuck to how all the other zelda games have gone, where you are saving the princess (even if tetra was a princess)

You have to free up Ciela by stunning him. Smack him a few times and get him into the locked sword stance, rub quickly to push him back, and then smack him again. Ciela will toss you a yellow orb to freeze time. =D

i think bellum was really easy but when i was playing this i was leaning back on my chair and my mom called me and then all of a sudden my earphones were sooo loud that when i wasnt looking the phantoms came on and it scared the shit out of me that i fell! i would be grounded right now cause the chair's leg broke but i wasnt grounded once in my entire life and now im 11 sooooo i think its all good!:D

I get that I need to get link to a point where he locks swords to get the sphere, but getting him to that point is my problem. does anyone have any tips? I can get him there three times before I run out of purple potion and I'm dead after ten minutes of playing. are there specific things I should be doing?

I had the same problem, but I figured it out: when you beat him in the sword clash, his guard will be down for a small window of time. Use this to hit him one more time. This should stun him, and Ciela should give you the Phantom Sphere. If you mean getting him to that point, there really isn't a strategy to it xD You just have to keep hitting him. Be quick, though, because if you're not fast enough he'll swipe at you and knock you back.

if you hit bellumbeck and he moves to the side and you aren't quick enough to hit him again, i found a way to when he jumps to the side move back, let him swing his sword then quickly run back to bellumbeck and hit him. it should work

Don't give him any time to rest like in the video. Every time you get a chance to atack, atack. After he initially gets knocked back quickly run and wail at him and he'll be stunned
