Just bought the luts but im totally new to filmmaking. How does it work do i just pass the log 3 footage from my sony fs7 to davinci and simply apply the lut? Is that all or do i still need to adjust light exposure or anything else?

I just bought my Sony A7IV and im just a photography /videography hobbyist. Your luts( already purchased both packs, arri and film) makes me want to shoot more videos because it made my footage beautiful. I think i watched every youtube videos talking about phantom luts. Thank you sir for creating these luts.

So helpful to see manual lenses on the 4D. I’ve been using the DJI 17-28 and sony 35 gm for a super sharp commercial look. The d-log has been so effortless in davinci, but will definitely pickup your luts. Probably going to pickup that dulens 31mm, too! Curious if you prefer super35 mode since less rolling shutter.

I often do prefer the s35 mode yes - I swap between them all the time. The 31mm is a great with both full frame and s35.

I need to purchase your luts I have been hearing about them forever and I think it’s time but I’m just wondering is there any way to get discounts if we buy Sony and DJI I know you have discounts for the Orion film look but I didn’t see anything if you’re buying the same light packs for different cameras to it’s just I’m using a Sony a 74 and then now I have the Ronin for D so I was hoping I can match them both using your lot I know it’s not gonna be perfect but close enough

Hey I am really excited to use these Luts, I've looked in the DJI forums but my camera won't recognize the 33x lut files. Is there a video explaining how to upload them properly I think I'm doing something wrong.

You have to include underscores (_) with no spaces at all in the name, give it a go!

So, with these luts, will i have to convert d-Log to rec709, and then apply? Or can i apply them directly from d-Log? (I am using Premiere pro btw)

No need to convert to Rec709, this handles to conversion so just apply them directly to your d-log footage

No need to CST. Just set the timeline colour space to Rec 709-A

I am using five types of focal lengths of "Ronin 4D+ Lumix S 1.8". I am using this lens. If I purchase and use the "lut" files you sell for this lens, can I express a color similar to "Alexa Mini"? Please advise.

LUTs for the 4D will emulate the Alexa Mini, yes.

Welcome! Yup, just get your Log footage into DaVinci and apply the LUT! You'll always make adjustments depending on your taste, but try to expose correctly on the day to minimise editing afterwards!

footage looks great. and congrats! also love the "poor man's olpf" tip. haven't had a chance to extensively test the Ronin 4D. would love to know more about shooting at 500 ISO. is the 800 footage too noisy in your experience? would love to learn and hear your thougths. thanks again for the video.

I'm new to film (animation has been my production expertise) and I have been using a 4D for 9 months. My attempts to use DLOG have always never worked well as I just couldn't get the colors to work. I just purchased your LUTZ pack and I can't wait to try recording in DLOG again. New sub here too.

Update: I test filmed in DLOG and I didn't like the -2 and -2 settings as recommended, it just looked too soft to me so I set 0 and 0. Honestly, these are amazing. I have tried for countless hours to make my DLOG look this good. 100% respect. Thank you.

Hi Joel, I will like for you to look into making a LUT for mobile apps like Filmic pro. Some of us are in Africa where the Govt minimum wage is $40. Buying a camera is luxury but with phone apps, we can make great videos so pls look into making mobile LUTS for android first and then IOS. We majorly use android cuz of affordability and a lot of foreign used ones or cheap brands are sold here Thank you

Thank you for making this! There are so many review videos on the 4D out there but so little actual in depth content... Is there a way to get rid of the moire without buying the expensive sensor filter that you can install on the 6k? And could you link the filters you were talking about in this video maybe? I still don't own the 4D but I have been thinking SO much altely on buying it.. The only things that still make me hesitate are the weight and the sense crop from 50p upwards. Do you think there is a lot of quality loss when you crop the 2.39:1 4k 120 back to 17:9? I would have a few more questions but I don't want to overload you, just really appreciate this video! ~ Phill

Hey Phill, recently got the 8K and so far so good with it's built in OLPF. The filter I was talking about in the video was the Tiffen Digital Diffusion FX2 Filter.
