Thank you for this great story, Ron! Supposedly, the original Bobby Mackey's is closing down. They're supposed to tear it down & replace it with a new building, from what I've heard. Bobby Mackey actually wrote a song about Pearl Bryan called "Poor Pearl Poor Girl", because it was believed that her head had been thrown into the well that's in the basement there back when it was a slaughter house. I've read several stories about it never being a slaughter house back then though, so it's not confirmed, of course.

Bobby Mackey’s Bar is due to be torn down because the owners Bobby and Denise Mackey found the building would be too expensive to renovate. They plan to rebuild a one story bar on the same site by 2026.

What a sad yet macabre story ! I bet Pearl had no idea of what was in store for her. It's an age old story that repeats itself again and again, I'm afraid. What a creep this " lover " was ! It sounds like he and his accomplice buddy got what they deserved at their hanging ! It makes me sad that she doesn't even have a headstone now. If he was a dental student he definitely would have the methods to permanently get rid of her head. It would be interesting if someone could find out more information on her burial arrangements. Her parents were well to do so money would not have been a problem. Maybe they wanted it kept unmarked??
