Is it possible to make this bass sound on Stage 3?
@MyKeysToMusic Жыл бұрын
@matejhampl3872 Yes Absolutely. The only difference is that on Stage 3, you'll be limited to playing a single note to trigger the arpeggiator. The sound can be replicated, however, as the Stage 3 has all the features to be able to do this. The organ sound can also be replicated on the Stage 3 as well of course.

Ahhhh, yes, of course, arpeggiator on a single note! Thank you@@MyKeysToMusic

@@matejhampl3872 You got it! Yes, single note pulses on the NS3 work just like a pattern arpeggiator, so long as you have your arpeggiator octave set to none.

Is this reproducible on a Moog One-16?
@MyKeysToMusic Жыл бұрын
@greggnardozza8965 Hello Gregg! Yes and no. For sure, the opening "synth pulse" would be easy to replicate on the Moog One-16. You can start with a simple sawtooth waveform and have it pulse through the Moog One arpeggiator. But the pipe organ could be more of a challenge. The Pipe organ sounds comprise a series of tones woven together as a collective, providing for a unique sound. In other words, to replicate the Phantom organ sounds in particular, I'm using the Pipe organ engine from the Nord, which uses no less than 9 organ stops pulled all the way out (all 9 purpose-built tones are provided from the Nord organ engine). On top of that, I mix in the built-in "cathedral organ" sample from the synth engine, which ends up providing a very full and convincing replica. The Moog One (as powerful as that synth is) is not really designed for a sound such as this. The Moog one would have no problem imitating any analog-oriented synth sound that is based on "subtractive syntheses" but has a harder time with sounds that are better replicated by using an organ engine or sounds that can only be played via a recorded sample. Said another way, if you wanted to replicate a Keith Emerson or Rick Wakeman synth sound, the Moog One is your go-to for this. In fact, both of these keyboardists used a Moog so we're in the same family. On the other hand, replicating even a simple trumpet sound, the Moog One is going to struggle with that because that sound is not based on subtractive synthesis and would be better replicated using modern brass modeling or a recorded sample. This is just one example, but there are countless others.

Excellent. I used to own an Ensoniq Mirage back in the day. We sometimes forget that many of these old synths are still quite capable.
