2020. Pandemic. Trying to get on with my life. A friend recommends me the song "Phantom Of The Opera" by Iron Maiden. I listen to that song and completely fall in love with it. I look for live performances of that song. I find this. I watch it. And that's how I became a fan of the greatest heavy metal band in history. Thank your for everything Paul Di'Anno. Here is where it all started for me. Rest in peace, your legacy will live forever. Thank you for saving my life with your voice, and for teaching us a lot of things. From Argentina, 2024.

This absorbs all the best from heavy, speed, punk, rock, but basicly this is fundamental heavy metal, the best one!

So glad i bought live at the Rainbow on VHS 30 years ago. Paul's presence and vocals in Maiden were electrifying!.

unconditionally my favorite title. I heard it for the first time, I must have been 13 or 14 years old and today 55 years old I never tire of listening to it again and again... This group has gone through decades and centuries (1977 is the 20th century ;-) Long Live Maiden

Brilliant ,the production on the album version not great ,this proves Paul was indeed a great singer live ,just don't compare to Bruce , completely different singers ,Paul's voice suits the band's style as it's his song , Bruce's voice took them in a different direction to suit his , respect to both singers ,they suit their time period in the band perfectly ,well done for doing such a great job on the video ,hard to believe that was 40 years ago ,still sounds so fresh 👍🤘

The only band that brings so much history and legend to their sound and actually become historical and legendary in being and stature, themselves.

Thanks for taking the time to put all the pieces together Sean. Bruce is amazing, but in this footage Paul is out of this world. Such a punk attitude and a wonderful voice and stage presence, and he was just a kid!...Comparisons are such a waste of time.

You're right, comparisons are a waste of time. Paul couldn't deal with the success and was going into drugs and alcohol. But Bruce Dickinson would have never entered iron maiden if they wouldn't have had the success, intensity and music they've created with Paul. So essentially, Bruce is in Iron Maiden thanks to the great job Paul did as a singer... And Iron Maiden is still there and a legend thanks to the work of Bruce. Every singer brought in a bit of themselves, Blaze was not that relevant, but he avoided Iron maiden from breaking up after Bruce left. But Paul and Bruce are what made iron maiden this legendary (and of course Steve Harris, but in the end the singer is always essential for the people, we saw that with the decline of maiden after releasing virtual XI, which was a really far below average album... Despite having 2 or 3 really good songs on it)

Excellent work with the video, and fantastic; strongly agree with Paul and Clive, it was their best time without a doubt ,,, indeed the comparisons are odious.
