It turns out the Juno spacecraft, and the minifigures, will be coming back in September of 2025

Unfortunately, that’s a misconception. At the end of its mission, Juno & the mini figures will be crashed into Jupiter’s atmosphere to not contaminate any potential life on its moons Europa, Callisto, & Ganymede.

We couldn't hope they survived a reentry: the craft itself isn't built for that, and at such a temperature a thumb-sized chunk of aluminum ignites like butane-doused charcoal. And since all useful data was already transmitted via radio NASA would never spring for an expensive recovery mission just to get back a non-reusable probe and handful of Legos.

If Pizza Hut can send a pizza into space, I’m pretty sure NASA would be able to recover these purely because of it’s value, and history. Then again, it’s 2022, so we shouldn’t get our hopes up.

Okay, Strider. I have to say, that number 1 slot has gotta be one of the most fascinating entries I've ever seen in any Top List in the entirety of KZbin. Never in my life did I think I'd see a video, where I would learn about a LEGO minifigure, that was literally sent off to Jupiter. It's a video topic I never thought I'd want to see. And yet here it is, and I am very pleasently surprised at how fascinating it is, and how well you told the story about it all. I am very honoured to have been a part of the editing for this video. It turned out better then I could've possibly imagined, and it's got a very well deserved place on my list of favorite PhantomStrider Top Lists.

I have a knockoff Mr. Gold, and I love it. I don't care about the authenticity of a minifig, I just love the gold man in a tux and hat. Besides, the real ones were apparently very brittle, but mine holds up just fine.

If the real, authentic Mr. Gold is actually made of pure gold, it wouldn't surprise me if he's brittle. Gold may be highly valuable, but it's also not exactly very durable; it's actually quite soft in it's purest form, which is why it's usually mixed with other metals when used for something to increase it's durability

I was kid back then, and guess what happened: I was at the toy store, just saw there is a new series going on, and absent-mindedly touch-felt a couple of them hanging at the shelf, then when I got to a very classic shaped top hat, I said "I have three of those top hats anyways", and bought a monster fighter set instead. The thing is: in that series ONLY Mr Gold had a top hat.

I actually remember those skeleton figures the silver ones in this video were molded after; I think I still own one. They have a pretty major flaw in that the arms are extremely floppy, so while they CAN hold any pieces a normal minifigure would be able to, they cannot be posed with them without their arms drooping back down again. And before anyone asks, no, it's not because the age if the figure has reduced the friction on those joints with the passage of time, I'm pretty sure mine has always been like that (mainly due to the fact that the arms are attached by tini ball joints). I'm pretty sure that the new mold was designed to help to fix this issue, if I'm not mistaken

The Minifigure from the Unity Microgame contest appears to be worth a comparatively modest £220 on eBay at the moment. According to a quick search, there were about 1,150 made (probably a few extra for Lego and Unity staff) and one of those is sitting in its bag on my shelf

It's true, but there's two notable trends with re-prints... The re-prints would be considered distinct, and in most cases they would be considered less valuable. Also, the odds of them being fully identical to the original ones is extremely low. These two factors generally protect the value of the original versions...

The Lego Ninjago Movie was based on the TV show of the same name. I think it failed because it was completely different from the show, the canon was different, the designs were different (though they would keep their new designs in the show, except Zane), the voice actors were different, and just had a different vibe. A lot of fans of the show disliked all of these elements in the film. I wasn't a fan of Ninjago when I first watched it, but even I thought it wasn't very good. So yeah, just thought you should know. Plus the Ninjago tv show is Danish and Canadian, just thought that was an interesting fact. I'm Autistic too btw.

I really don't think that's the reason it failed. I mean, do you really think casual audiences care about "tHe LoRe"? The movie just wasn't very good. It just didn't have an interesting story and more importantly, it just wasn't funny. The other LEGO Movies are some of the funniest animated movies I've ever seen, but in the Ninjago movie, practically none of the jokes hit. It's just lame. But, the movie practically saved the show, so I'm not complaining too much. But that's not the main reason it failed. I think the biggest reason it failed is because it didn't appeal to general audiences. I love Ninjago, but it's just not a very well-known franchise. The LEGO Movie (and the sequel) just had LEGO in the title, the audiences didn't except anything specific. They expected to see something related to LEGO which is a well-known brand so people rushed to the theatres. And with the LEGO Batman movie, well, it's Batman. Who doesn't know Batman? When people see Batman in the title of a movie, of course they'll rush to the theatres. But with the Ninjago movie, most people don't really know the franchise, so they just didn't know what to expect. The LEGO Movies are marketable at first, and well-made at second (even though they're really well-made). But the LEGO Ninjago movie just wasn't marketable at all. All general audiences had to go off of was the trailers, and imagine yourself as someone who never heard of the show watching the Movie trailers.... So this movie is like, about teenagers that go to high school but they're actually secretely Ninjas with Elemental Powers that have nothing to do with being Ninjas and they ride giant Kaiju mechs and protect the town from Garmadon and his evil Shark army that try to destroy the city twice a week. Oh, and like, one of the Ninjas is Lloyd who actually doesn't have an element and is just green and everyone hates him because he's Garmadon's son, but Garmadon doesn't talk to him. That's just... Not marketable. Neither to casual audiences nor fans of the show for the reasons you said yourself. The Batman Movie didn't need explanation, everyone knows what's it gonna be about, it's Batman. He's a rich guy with dead parents and a butler and a bat cave and a black car and a bunch of weapons and his sidekick is a kid and he fights a clown. Everyone knows Batman. It's Batman. It just would've made much more sense to make like, a LEGO Spiderman movie or a LEGO Star Wars movie. The truth is, not a lot of people know or care about Ninjago and if they wanted to market it towards those people they should've made a simpler concept for the Movie.

I've always been confused on when on the timeline the movie takes place: Zane knows he is a robot (acts WAY too much like one) despite none of them knowing how to do spinjitzu Nya is considered a ninja but Garmadon is still evil That's all I can think of right now

Younger audiences don't usually care about lore in shows. They will however be effected if the character act completely different that they expect. So the characters being redone with new voices and personalities would not of helped. The main reason thought was probably because the movie was bad as it did not have good humour and felt like a cheap Lego Movie duplicate. I understand why companies do this especially in today's economy but it's still gamble as it can fail like this example did.

This makes me wonder what the true rarest video games would be honestly. People say that Spud's Adventure on Gameboy & Tetris on Sega Genesis could be the rarest, but time & time again has shown us that you can go even further down to the ground in rarity. There has literally been cases where a game gets found & it's like the ONLY copy known to have ever surfaced & it was out of nowhere too.

The golden boba fett that the child owns is fake. He says in in the comment section of the video. He said he spray painted it gold and tried to pass it on as the real one. I was confused too until I saw his vid. There is no way a kid of that age has the minifig and keeps it in that kind of protection. There are many customs of it you can get online as well.
