Often we discuss how accurate a Duel Disk is to the anime (and this is!) but this ALSO has quality of life upgrades that would make it a great everyday disk! It was originally available for pre order in Japan and through import shops starting in 2021, and only just released in the last few weeks!

As a new owner, I am speechless, and can't wait to try it with my cosplays! RUSH DUEL!
For those looking for the graveyard, it is just below the deck slot! Cards are kept secure during play, and can be inserted on the opposite side of the magnetic deck box. The left and right additional slots are commonly used for Field Spells and Extra Monsters! No Rush Duel spoilers, here, though ~ !

I’ve always wanted a duel disk, but never had the money nor could make a DIY, but since this duel disk is much smaller, and has pretty much no special features (so it should be cheaper), I should be able to afford it and can show off to my friends and duel them, I’ll probably just grab 2 rubber bands and put them on the spots that come out so I can use spells and traps

The label on the side of the box says that the extensions are supposed to be used for the Extra Deck on the left side and the Field Zone on the right. Given that they both are deeper than normal but not by a whole lone, I suspect you're supposed to split the Extra Deck in half and put it in both sides, with the Field Spell on top of the cards on the right side.

I remember when i later found out i think when i first started playing master duel i think last year that duel links although played similar to regular yugioh, it used a few rush duel rules like the more noticeable one being the 3 monster and trap/spell card zones. That was really the first time I ever heard of rush duel Nevermund, found out the differences between rush duel and speed duels. Same concept, just different play style

bro where's the graveyard zone edit: alright so i figured it out, when you mount the deck box it leaves an open space between it and the duel disk, and that's the graveyard zone.

So it has a 7-segment display, just like the Battle City Proplica Duel Disc. And it can fit sleeved cards, just like the Battle City Proplica Duel Disc. And it has a handgrip, just like the Battle City Proplica Duel Disc. And it has Extra Deck slots, just like the Battle City Proplica Duel Disc. But it can collapse down to a three-zone Rush Duel mode, unlike the Battle City Proplica Duel Disc.

This Duel Disk is actually not good for Master Duels, since the slots on the sides are for the Field Spells on the right, and Extra Monster Zone on the left. On the other hand, they’re perfect for Speed Duels, though you’d have to store your Extra Deck and your Banish Zone somewhere else, like a side box or something similar.

It really depends on what experience you are trying to get out of a Duel Disk! These items have always been a way to celebrate and recreate moments from the anime. We're already using our imagination as we call out card names from across the room in absence of a holographic projection, so some Duelists won't find it particularly burdensome to plan ahead on whether or not this Duel Disk will fit them for a Master Duel. ( I know it would definitely work for my Amazement Deck ~ ! 🥳 )

The good news is - Surreal Entertainment, in a partnership with Konami Cross Media (who licenses the right to make certain Yu-Gi-Oh goods) have teamed up to release a reprint of the original Duel Disk this year. It'll be available at Hot Topic, and some limited quantities are online now from in-person events held here and there. What's so good about the news? THAT Duel Disk does not use sleeves, so you can relive the nostalgia of your favorite Duel Disk whenever you want. 😂 An honest review video of that is coming soon, with a comparison to the original and the newer styles as well! Really looking forward to that one ~ !

@@Pharaohmones Out of curiosity: when you convert the Rush Duel disk to "Master Duel" mode, do the extra card places also have slots for setting spell/trap cards? What about field spells, is there a slot for that? I don't remember if Rush Duel did something new with spell card placement...

@@alfa1134 There are no additional slots hidden under the left and right extended slots. The added zones on the Rush Duel duel disk are originally intended for Field Zones and other new cards introduced later in SEVENS, but they could be used for certain conservative Master Duel decks that do not use too many Spell/Trap/Monster cards at one time.

@@alfa1134 That's a great choice, too! The PROPLICA is a -solid- Duel Disk (weighing in at over 7 pounds) - but once you get used to the weight, it's one of the most polished Duel Disks ever made!

1:04 I actually looked closely on this....The Left is actually an Extra Deck Zone and the right is a Field Spell Zone. :)

Given the extra slot isn't positioned correctly for the Extra Monster Zone, I really think it's just so you can have a 5-on-5 field for traditional play. Or for some new card type that hasn't come out yet.

There is not. The right side extended zone is for field spells and the left side one is to hold your extra deck. They are meant to keep the cards in loosely so you can take them out when needed so they don’t even hold the cards tight enough to really use the zones as master duel monster zones.

I wonder if they'll release it in North America too? Sense we know that the Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS Dub is coming soon and as of right now Rush Duels hasn't been announced for the TCG yet but the video game came out in English last month.

I hope the card game comes to America. I imported this duel disk and it’s fun to mess around with, but it would be nice to have some English rush duel cards to use on it. I want to print my own on cardstock but I have to line up all the cards correctly so the backings are lined up to the fronts.

I wish we could get one of these that came with zones for link monsters, had a gy and a banish zone, extra deck slot, field spell slot, and could fit sleeved cards. Basically I always refrain from buying these because their always missing something that keeps it from being able to play an actual yugioh duel. Maybe some day...

There are many playmats used in competitive play that don't have zones, so Duelists have been 'making do' since the first Duel Disk arrived in the same way! You'll find that if you get creative, you can have just as much fun, but you'll have to adjust to the reality that the Duel Disk never quite has all the functionality needed for -every- deck.

Since the deck box is magnetic, you can buy strong belt magnets like the ones for construction belts to hold heavy metal tools and slap the deck box on and off😉🤘 lol

There's two things I've noticed this Duel Disk is missing. Field spell slot and a Graveyard

The Graveyard is beneath the deck box! Depending on how you place the deck box in, the entry point of the Graveyard can switch sides. The Field Spell slot folds out from the edge, just like the traditional Battle City Duel Disk ~ !

Personally I don't see the point of keeping them sealed unless you expect to get the Monster and Trap cards separately. I'd say just make sure they're either sleeved or put into a display case.

The Graveyard is actually the slot beneath the magnetic Deck Box! The Deck Box can be reversed, so you have two sides in which you may place cards in the Graveyard. To do so, there's a little ramp that opens up at the bottom edge of the card-drawing side of the deck box (which side that is may very based on how you place your deck box in the Duel Disk.) The cards are held in place by the magnetized deck box, but not in a way that would damage them.

You can! Rush Duel cards are the exact same size and shape, but their art is different to let you know they are RUSH DUEL cards.

Hiding in plain sight! There is a slit where you slide the cards in underneath where the Deck Box is! Because the Deck Box is equipped by magnets, you can actually rotate it if you want to switch which side you draw cards from and which side you place cards into the GY beneath it.

It would be hard to play Yu-Gi-Oh without one! The graveyard is the compartment underneath the switchable deck box, and there's a place to put cards in on the opposite side, where they rest neatly in the spacious compartment!

The spot for the graveyard is underneath the deck box! Just like when you rotate the deck box to determine which side you want to draw cards from, you will also change which way cards go into the grave. There's plenty of space, and cards slip in undamaged.
