In the UK, specialties ( hospital pharmacist, community pharmacist etc )are based on the settings we work on. Apart from that, all pharmacists in the UK are qualified to work in all the settings once registered with GPhC.

Hi dear, At present completing ospap and the registration year is the only route to register as a pharmacist in UK. There may be other master degrees that may be available which are related to pharmacy, such as Msc.pharmaceutical science. However, these degrees will not lead to registration or enables you to work as a pharmacist. Hope this helps 😀

Hi dear, Pharmaceutical Science on its own is not sufficient to register as a pharmacist whether it's a degree from UK or India. If you are a UK student, Mpharm is the only course that allows you to register as a pharmacist. If you are coming from abroad, you should complete a pharmacy degree (Bpharm, Mpharm or PharmD) in abroad and also complete OSPAP in UK. Hope this helps!

Hi dear, Yes definitely! Provided that you pass the English language requirement, you can apply for the OSPAP course. Successful completion of OSPAP and registration year would enable you to work as a pharmacist. Hi Reshma, Pharmaceutical Science is an entirely different course to pharmacy. It's not an area that I have much knowledge in. The degree will not lead to pharmacist registration. However there will be other jobs you could apply for. However I don't have much knowledge of opportunities in this sector.

Hi Aleena This would depend on the university. As I did Mpharm and not OSPAP, I am not too sure if this is possible. There are only around 5 universities in the UK which offers the OSPAP course. It is best go to their website and check under ' course structure'. As this is a professional course, I assume it would be a mix of live and online classes. You may also have practical lessons and placements where you have to attend the university. It's best to email universities directly for further information. Hope this helps!
