My endocrinologist put me on Victoza I had a bad headache for three days only, after that I always felt faint and fatigued, my blood pressure would go dangerously low and I don't have blood pressure issues. When I uped the dose to 1.2 I started having palpitations one minute my pressure was high and the next very low I spoke to my endo about this, and she dismissed my symptoms and said I was not the medication and I should see my primary care physician. I stopped taking the medication after that and guess what, all those side-effects were gone and I felt like myself again. If something makes you feel too sick stop taking it, it's your body doctors dont feel what you feel.advocate for yourself

I started to take victoza for weight loss prescribed by my doctor. As soon as i went up too 1.2 thats when i started to have the same exact symptoms as you did so i just went back down too 0.6 and all of that went away.

i just started victoza for type 2,, and alot of this side effect, I do not have thank God..... this is my third day taking it,, and no side effect at all........ so every body is different.................. once your body get use to the med, it will be better

My Doctor put me on Victoza for type 2 med, it’s been 9 months so far. I don’t take any other diabetic med with it. I’ve lost 15 pounds and my A1C went from 9.2 to 6.4 which is amazing! My only concern is I’ve had a Stroke 5 months ago, which I’m concerned. Do you know if one of the Victoza side affects causes strokes? I want to stop taking it, but it’s helping with weight loss.

Hi @Yesiniia, I'm sorry to hear about your stroke. I hope you are doing much better now and congrats on that 15lb weight loss. With respect to stroke, contrary to your suspicions, Victoza is rather FDA-approved to reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, and heart-related death. So while I cannot say with a 100% certainty that it contributed or not, it will not be the first thing I will suspect. I'm sure your doctors will do a thorough investigation to determine what led to the stroke and advise. I wish you the best.

when you said "every day" for dosing, did you mean to say "once a week"? That's what my doctor prescribed (once per week). Honestly, even at the lowest dose, the day after I have nausea so bad that I throw up or dry heave a LOT the next day... Supposed to go up to 1.2mg right now and I'm looking at this pen.... considering going back to Metformin. My A1C is 5.7

Hmmm! Will not be a bad idea to circle back with your doctor concerning the dose. All the literature including the manufacturer list the dosage as DAILY and NOT Weekly . It sometimes gets confused with Trulicity and Ozempic which are dosed weekly.

Take your normal dose at night.. that’s the only way I got rid of the nausea( feeling the need to vomit)

Strategies involve getting bile production flowing again with compounds like TUDCA (Tauoursodexycholic acid), Pancreatin, Betaine Hydrochloride, Ox Bile extracts, conjugated bile salts, stone root, Pepsin, Slippery Elm bark and choline. I would say discuss your concerns and “fears” with your doctor who knows you best and should be able to give you objective advice. You didn’t mention experiencing any specific problems, so not sure why you are considering stopping.

i do not have appetite as well, i take it hours before bed,,,,,,, i was told to take it in morning, but they started me on 1.2 and i was automatically not hungry,, so it would not been good for me to take this first thing in the am, so i take it hours before bed, and no late night eating at all,,also check your suga, because you will feel like your sugar low but you will be in range,, so check it, to make sure that its not false.......... but other than that, I have no issues with it......

It's a way for pharma to make more money. Nova obtained FDA approval for a higher dose of (Liraglutide) 3.0 MGS indicated only for obesity, repackaged it as Saxenda, allowing them to profit from two markets with one pharmaceutical.

The brand Victoza itself was not approved for weight loss, but it does work for weight loss. As a matter of fact, the same active ingredient in Vicotaza, Liraglutide was later approved for weight loss but marketed under a different brand name called Saxenda. The only difference is that Saxenda comes in a higher strength, 3mg VS Victoza that comes in 1.2 and 1.8mg. Some doctors like to prescribe Victoza instead of Saxenda because most insurance companies do not cover Saxenda because of its use for weight loss. Hope this helps.
