I had the pleasure of listening to this amazing piece of music history on 12/21/17 while driving to work, it was on the great FM 91.1 KCSM (College of San Mateo, CA) radio station. I have heard so many great tunes played by the assorted D.J.'s over the 30 plus years I have lived here. Long Live Jazz, Long Live KCSM!!!! :-)

I heard Kenny live at the Village Vanguard, in New York City where I was born and grew up...waaaaaay back when (which in this case means probably either '68 or '69! I was a smoker at the time, but it was fucking hard to go into the Vanguard at the time as you would be confronted by a virtual wall of cigarette smoke. Even as a smoker I found it overpowering and more than a little disgusting. LOL. (I think Kenny only had a trio that night.) I guess that is one of the few advantages of being old: I got to hear live performances of Kenny Burrell, Bill Evans, Chick Corea, Keith Jarrett, Kenny Barron, et.al., all at very small clubs! (Even got to a Miles concert --NOT in a small club, sadly) after he was electric/electronic. So many masters gone. They will all be missed.
