@@rafaelmartins9263 He's not singing directly into the mic but rather to the side of it which means the engineer isn't getting as much signal to work with. It's a bit of a balancing act for the engineer without as much signal to work with to get volume without feedback which they're doing well. This isn't a criticism of Pharrell btw. His mic technique could be for a whole bunch of reasons. To get a certain tone, to avoid plosives etc etc.
