Phase field modelling of hydrogen embrittlement: state-of-the-art, opportunities and challenges

Webinar given as part of the HyLine II project. The webinar was aimed at explaining, in the simplest terms possible, the fundamentals of phase field fracture modelling and how this technology can be used to predict hydrogen assisted failures. The audience consisted mostly of engineers from industry and therefore the approach was more practical and particular emphasis was placed in showing how phase field fracture (and fatigue) is well aligned with our well-established fracture mechanics theory.
