F= degree of freedom
C= number of components
P= number of phases
2= constant

Phase are mechanically separable verities of matter that can be distinguished from one another verities based on their structure, composition, state.
Phase on igneous rock system includes minerals of various composition, crystal structure, amorphous solids (glass) and fluid such as liquid and glass.

Chemical components are usually expressed as proportion of oxides.
The most common chemical components in igneous reaction includes SiO2, Al2O3, FeO, MgO, CaO, Na2O, K2O, H2O and CO2.
N. B: - all phase in the system can be made by combining components in various proportion.

It refers to the number of variances. Number of independent factors that can vary, such as temperature, pressure.
Without changing the phase F is equilibrium with one another.
