Also important: Revenants are not only the fastest ghost, they're also the only ghost that's faster than YOU are (while hunting). You literally cannot outrun a Revenant, you have to hide or you die.

i really wish the developer gave every ghost a reason to be scared of DURING a hunt, much like the revenant. the demon is supposedly the worst but after 100 hours and being level 360, a revenant is far worse because you’re guaranteed death when it spots you.

I remember once in a game me and my friend had rushed the house with sensors. After a while one of the sensors had turned off, we went into check and the sensor laid on the floor by the wall we places it on. We then learned that ghosts can fuck with your equipment. Same happend with a Camera and and another sensor.

Something to note about the Banshee, if you group together with people and stay very close, it never hunts. Did a 0 sanity challenge with candles and after 15 minutes of messing around it wouldn't attack, the second someone went across the room it started to hunt. Happened multiple times for me.

I learned that even if a Jinn has its power, it will slow down once it gets close to you. So if you're in Highschool or Asylum, you can still outrun a Jinn easily. (It will run at you fast from far away, then it will slow down when it gets close).

Also Phantoms can take the form of other players in the game. If you see one of the other players, but they're completely empty-handed with no equipment, it's most likely a Phantom. It's really cool, because you think you're staring at your teammate while your sanity drops.

idk if this was fixed or not but Since Shade and Oni mechanics are multiplayer based their behaviours swap during singleplayer. A shade is super shy and doesn't attack if multiple people are nearby, so when you're in singleplayer it will be way more active and aggressive. The Oni will be more shy in singleplayer since his mechanics are based on people nearby so if you're alone, activity will drop significantly. Keep in mind it is still an Oni and will still be aggressive, bu nott as much as his multiplayer version.

A few notes on some ghosts. Banshee: if the targeted player leaves the building it will also swap targets. Jinn: because it’s only fast when far away, means it’s just as fast as any other ghost (besides Revenant) when within a few meters of a player. Revenant: because the game isn’t very optimized yet, the Revenant will sometimes knkw where you are, even though it doesn’t have a direct line of sight on you. I’ve had a few times were i would hear the Revenant above me (different floor level) but have it still run at me without being able to see me. Shade: for the same reason as the Revanant, the game not being very optimized yet, the Shade will sometimes stop all paranormal activity if only 1 player is in the building. So far this has only happened to me when a friend had been inside with me, and than left. But the ghost still didn’t do anything, even after my sanity dropped to 0%. So if you can’t find any evidence, or the ghost is not active at all when playing with multiple people, it will be a Shade.

No, it means its weakness isn't applicable during a hunt. You use it to prevent one I guess. The demon, oni, banshee, shade, poltergeist, jinn, and mare also have weaknesses that are useless during a hunt. Actually, most ghost types can't be stopped during a hunt... Jinn could *technically* have its strength disabled during a hunt but it'd only really be possible if you just happen to be close and calm enough to run over to the fuse box and turn it off. Revenant, I have yet to work out how its weakness is useful during a hunt because it apparently only moves slower once you're secured in a hiding place and it hasn't seen you. I guess it could give you more time to scoot to the wall? My point remains though, most ghosts have no weaknesses during a hunt and the ones that do are very situational (e.g. smudge sticks, you have to dedicate 2 slots of your inventory to carry it and then take it out and light it.) TL;DR All ghosts have a weakness, but not all weaknesses are created equal. So to answer your question no, it does have a weakness just not during a hunt.

Amazingly, a lot of the Mares I find like to play with the lights in general, on and off. Someone told me Banshees can teleport to your location, anyone know if thats true? (during a hunt or otherwise) I dont believe the hunt part but i got spooked by the info nonetheless xD

I believe there has recently been a lot more info datamined about the ghost behaviours. I think the banshee will navigate to the target's location, and will initiate a hunt if line of sight is made. I'm not sure about teleporting though. I kind of prefer how a lot of the intricate details are unknown, the fear of the unknown definitely makes it more spooky.

Banshees being fixated on someone from the group, means they're usually pretty near when they start hunting. I don't think it teleports.

They die from that, and we see the banshee energy.

It selects the player when the hunt starts, not during the whole game. If your friend gets hunted once, the ghost might hunt someone else next time, but he'll focus the person during the hunt

Banshee Strat: once you find out who the banshee is targeting (say you are running from it, and it is only chasing one person and it fails to kill them), make them stay in the truck to watch for sanity and activity until you need it to activate a hunt

My squad's weakness are Revenants and Onis. Oni are surprisingly common for some reason, and the fact that no matter the difficulty we always spend the first 3 minutes either hauling equipment to the front door or placing cameras, books and EMFs to the ghost room, and after they're placed, usually we stick around to see evidence like fingerprints. It usually starts a hunt like 6-8 minutes into the investigation and since our team energy isn't that good at escape routes, we usually have someone act a sacrifice, or in some cases, leave a player in the truck, two out in the house, and one in the ghost room seeing stuff like writing and spirit box. It works out well, but since we aren't partly spread out, Revenants are usually fast enough to locate one of us (ofc the truck person is just "Oh good luck" when the lights start flickering.

Hey Nuzzgard! I believe another theory with the Wraith is that if it does cross through salt, it should also take a hit on your sanity levels (since the Wraith has a toxic reaction to it in general). I heard this from a few websites and do see some of it during my sessions. Thank you so much for your videos of tips and your sessions. just wanna add some more tipps, hope you dont mind. As you read out a Jinn is very territorial which also means in order to find out what Ghost youre dealing with, you can take his stuff und throw it around. Jinns really hate when you touch their stuff and will probably get way more aggressive if not start hunting soon. Sadly I encountered some Shades (with someone next to me) who still entered hunting mode. The best thing is to stay together. So when he does go on a hunt, make sure you aren't alone. Also if you play solo phasmo and you have a very active ghost, its most probably that this is a shade and not an Oni. While playing alone Oni aren't much active but always a safe call if it is an Oni is excessive light switching. They really love to do this.

Great points. Personally I have found that shades generally work as intended and rarely hunt if you are grouped up - perhaps sometimes this can glitch? Shades are definitely tricky to identify when solo!

Nothing to do with your accent ;) I've got a German accent and it worked just fine for me (and I play in English, too). The Oujia board is just very buggy and it rarely works properly. It only worked for me like three times - the other times, the ghosts didn't even bother to reply.

I can confirm, salt will stun a wraith, possibly ending its hunt. We had a wall of salt outside her room. When she hunted, the moment she walked past it she gasped (like the noise a ghost makes on a kill), and ended her hunt after only 3-5 seconds. Another time when she was just haunting and spooking players, she manifested and immediately disappeared after touching the salt. It sounded like she was stunned for a few seconds as *ALL* activity paused for a bit. (Ps: This WILL piss of the wraith)

Some other things to note: Jinns drop your sanity by 25% when they are physically apparent in front of you or very close to you. This can be used to identify them Poltergeists will drop you sanity by 25% if they throw items while you aren't looking at the item in question. This can be used to identify them Do note that "ghost events" in general will drop your sanity so don't confuse them with these special sanity drops

I once smudged a ghosts room where he wasn’t really active at all before, he’d flicker the light here and there but not appearing, but as soon as I activated the smudge he appeared and started chasing me, not like a hunt but he showed up, ran toward me and disappeared. It was very interesting and I wasn’t really sure if it was because of the ghost type or if it was just a coincidence.

Maybe I'm just an idiot, but how do these tips help? If I've figured out what ghost type I'm dealing with I'm whacking it in that journey and dipping out. If I haven't identified it yet then I've got no idea whether I should keep lights on or off, look at it and snap a picture or avoid line of sight etc.

Fun fact if you’re playing with multiple people and 1 person is seeing manifestations of the ghost more often than others it may be a Banshee “stalking” you. I’ve seen it happen a few times where a buddy sees the ghost spawn randomly a few times then when it hunts it goes straight for him indicating a banshee is chasing him

I have seen other types of ghosts other than Revenant switch victims during a hunt. I know it's not a Revenant because it was traveling the same speed as us. One of my friends died this way where the ghosts was chasing me and my friend was behind me chasing the ghost and as soon as i broke line of sight it turned to my friend and killed him.

Gets harder every level up? I think after 14 rank you unlock normal difficulty and on like 20 professional difficulty. When choosing a map, make sure to look what the difficulty is. Also Wraiths are indeed both a bit common and dangerous as they can fly and have no salt reaction. Demons are so aggressive and hunt way too much. Basically if on lower difficulties, try getting all evidence quick before the setup phase ends. I've played for 28 hours and only seen 2 demons and about 5 wraiths.

Dont 100% trust the journal is what i would say, i once finf a demon in grafton farmhouse, ghost room on the second floor bathroom and he hunt when i'm at 1st floor. So i go hide in the storage room behind the kitchen 1st floor with all doors closed but the demon act just like a wraith and goes straight to me from far2 away.... maybe i didnt close the door properly or maybe it's ghost hunting route and i'm just got bad luck xD

@@777smiley7 Ghosts constantly roam the house and don't always just stay in their haunted room so hunts don't always start from their room. They will typically move nearby their chosen victim first when initiating a hunt and you were probably unlucky that it managed to locate your hiding spot. As for the Shade if people's sanity starts to get low enough it will start hunting players even if you are grouped so if people with really low sanity are in the game(against any ghost type) and you don't have any pills left it can be beneficial to have them just wait outside since their presence will make the ghost more active.

I'm pretty sure that it's random. Names aren't always going to have the same ghost type. I think it just means, if lisa where a aggresive ghost, that could transition to the next ghost. But i don't think it's always going to be same ghost. Otherwise, if you got Lisa white, you'd always know the ghost type, without having to do any work. So you can still have a demon lisa white and a jinn lisa white etc.

A tip for Demons as noted in the book and in the video: Demons, whether they are Alone Ghosts or Everyone Ghosts, will trigger a hunt a LOT even if people aren't near the ghost room. They will hunt every chance they can get. It doesn't matter whether lights are on or off; they WILL hunt. Be ready to hide multiple times.

Me and some friends experimented a bit, we found out the ghost cannot ( or refuses to ) kill the last person alive if playing with multiple people. ( we tried this with a full team of 4, not sure if it works with three or just two ) but if everyone else dies, you can still figure out what the ghost is without fear at that point. Though would be fun and even more scary if it would kill everyone, resulting in a failure.

A note on the demon: evidence on the demon is hard to get, because the demon will not always play by the rules and withhold a piece of evidence, that might identify it. Furthermore, demons like to pretend to be other types of ghosts to confuse you. I have noticed, while playing, that demons tend to imitate behavior of other ghosts (poltergeist, jinn and wraith in my cases).

I was in a group and got extremely confused by a ghost. It was between spirit and revenant and we were going in for the last evidence so I suggested we use smudge sticks just in case if it was a spirit. I had them and I'm pretty sure I lighted them but as soon as I threw it down a hunt started. I'm pretty sure I saw the smoke from it which was what confused me. And I'm pretty sure it ended up being a spirit as well

You have to be physically close to the ghost to have it count. It's really finicky because I've been on top of the ghost while smudging before (it manifested before me) and it did not count as completing the smudge stick objective for me.

Yea Onis show themselves super early on, even if the setup time for the lower difficulties isn't up yet. I can't imagine the professional difficulty solo with an Oni.

i swear when i get a mare it turns the light OFF and then becomes extremely passive the rest of the game. Every time ive gotten a mare this has happened so far and its always hilarious because i imagine it with a loading bar above its head when it does it.

I was walking around an investigation alone and had pretty much narrowed it down to a shade but needed the emf level 5 so I had to go in the room it was in, tip shades like to hum a song when hunting and can turn off a ouija board. You don't even need to fill in the evidence fields - as long as the correct ghost type is selected the identification objective gets counted.

Hi a little psa on phantom... they WILL temporarily disappear during a hunt if you successfully take a picture of it. Phantoms models usually flash a lot so it's difficult to time the pic but if you do get a pic that counts as a picture of the ghost it will disappear for a sec :D this does NOT stop the hunt however. Speaking from experience :)))

I don't know if it's just a coincidence or not but Oni also begins activities even before the prep timer runs out. It was quite a funny yet scary situation my cousin, his friend and I were in. As soon as I placed the ghost writing book on the bed, instantly wrote "die x6" on it and it immediately attacked. Room lights went off and then it tried opening the bedroom door so we decided to turn off our flashlights and hid together inside the closet in that very same room which was its territory. At first it was funny because you could hear its footsteps coming back and forth in front of the closet while I was still asking it questions using ghost box (didn't know yet at that time that it could still find us) and then suddenly stopping. We thought it was over but then the closet opened and we thought one of us was playing around. We tried closing it again and then it opened again. Then it began to scream, we panicked and quickly ran out of the room towards the main door because we thought we saw someone get killed but then it was still locked so we ran around the house until we find a hiding spot. Sadly, my cousin's friend died because he got stuck on the drawer near the main door and the hunt ended and we ran out of the house to end the mission.
