Hello! In this video I'll be ranking all of the ghost types in regards to their threat and danger to the player, ranking from S (most dangerous) to D (least dangerous). I'll be explaining my reasoning for each one and why I think they belong there.

I see it zoom towards me like fucking sonic. I lit the smudge stick and hid behind about 4 closed doors. Then hunt ends and my friend ask, "ey everyone alive?" They reply yeah, and I reply with. "Yeah, I'm alive but I've got good news and bad news" " Good news, I know what the ghost is." Bad news, it a revenant." One of my friends screams over global chat, " HOW THE FUCK ARE YOU ALIVE!?"

Pretty much all ghost classes have a hyper aggro version. I even had a hyper aggro Spirit once. Took a while but once it started it just kept hunting.

The problem with demons is always the hunt. Sometimes he will hunt you and you will die with 70% or more of sanity. Why? Cuz it's a fookin Demon. Sometimes they will hunt even before freezing.

Recently I had the most cunning Banshee on a solo run and it made them one I put in the upper tiers. So it was a solo on the starter house and the Banshee was in the utility room. It gave up the first two bits of evidence fairly easily, but would not give up a third. As I watched the camera I saw it fidget a ton with the door to the garage. Armed with the UV torch I went in and it cut the power. I found plenty of fingerprints as I went into the garage and flipped the breaker. Cool, I got a Banshee, time to bounce. As I went back to the front door it was closed. I didn't recall closing it, so I tried to open it. Locked. Ok, I've had ghosts pull that on me before (especially demons) so I just went and hid in the closet near the nursery. But nothing was happening, so I thought to try the door again. Still locked. I decided to shut off the lights in the living room and then tried the front door a third time but still locked. I got a bad feeling and shut off my flashlight, turned on the lamp at the front door and it immediately started flickering. I booked it to the closet again as i heard that Banshee stomping down the house to the front door. Ive never had a ghost try to lay a trap and delay a hunt after locking the door that long. It was like she was hoping I'd get bored and wander deeper into the house again or something. Oh, and her name was Karen. Course it was...

For anyone that didn't know demons will often lie when you use the spirit box. For instance if you ask "where are you?" A lot of times demons will say away which is most certainly not true lol They may say that they're old when they are in fact young or vice versa. Just a little helpful tip for everyone :)

I would switch demon with wraith because wraiths can see you through doors and lockers so it’s easier for them to find you, demons just hunt a lot, as long as you outrun them and hide somewhere safe, you’ll be fine against a demon

What to do when ghost hunting: D tier: Do your best to get literally ANY evidence out of the ghost, they are pretty darn passive. C tier: just have fun, taunt the ghost all you like, but still be careful B tier: A little bit intimidating, but the only thing preventing you from completing the mission all the way is yourself. You can outrun all of these ghosts types; chill out; your fine. A tier: take these ghosts seriously, they can be rather dangerous. it is still possible to get all optional objectives, but be on your guard at all times. These ghost types can find you very easily, so your best bet is just to run during hunts. S tier: You have no hope. GTFO Immediately.

Ehhhhhh, idk. Even a rev is pretty damn easy to deal with, literally just hide. I don't feel any of the ghost types are particularly dangerous aside from a rev--and even then, as long as you're not trying to outrun it, you should be fine. Better hope you realize it's a rev before it hunts though and you're not caught out in the open

Revenant is easily countered by being aware of your surroundings , which means having a small room or a closet to hide in asap, and crucifixes around said room/closet so the rev doesn't spawn next to it.

i think i have a pretty cool idea for a ghost type, The Eldritch: Evidence: Ghost orbs, Fingerprints, Freezing Temperatures Info: An Eldritch is a spirit from the depths of the void and are typically more sporadic and hostile and tend to not stick to any single room, the ouija board is known to have a lesser effect on sanity than other ghosts if you are dealing with an Eldritch Strengths: Using smudge sticks will anger the Eldritch and can make it attack more frequently, during a hunt it leaves a trail of ectoplasm that if you step in it slows you down and the ghost can see you at all times if you are standing in its trail Weaknesses: It tends to follow a specific person around treating that player as the ghost room, it can switch players, you'll know its following you if you hear a few noises that other people don't hear, typically oozing noises

I just got a shade game and it was SO aggressive. Extremely active and would hunt almpst everytime someone went into its room. I was checking the emf in the room one time and it went to 5, and at that moment the lights turned on, the phone buzzed, and the ghost appeared. Then it started hunting. The difficulty was amateur. Also, it started hunting while me and my friend were 2 rooms away from its room (it was only the two of us playing). I was at 0 sanity and my friend was at about 40. The ghost killed my friend. The ghosts name was Karen.

I agree with all the ghosts on your list except for Demon. Demon should be "A" tier I thought. Because not only can it hunt at 15% higher sanity, it can initiate hunts in half the time of other ghosts...30 seconds instead of a minute. This means that particularly aggressive Demons can chain hunt a lot easier.

Yeah but it is so easy to outrun the ghost. I feel like Banshee and Revenant are the only ghost that get me killed once in 30 games. Once you know how to outrun or hide from a ghost the game get easy

@@schellshocked751 Not why you put Banshee there, then. You can outrun one as easy as Demon. By your arguement Rev should be S and everything else should be D because they're all the same speed. So, anything below "S" class no longer uses speed as a factor. For me, the main factors after that are "How soon do they hunt?" and "How often do they hunt?". This puts the Banshee and Demon on equal footing in my opinion because while Banshees hunt at higher sanity than Demons, Demons hunt more frequently than Banshees. No one is arguing that the Revenant isn't the Apex alpha hunter in a class by itself. Most games of Phasmophobia go something like "Is it a Revenant?" "No." "We're fine, then." What we're arguing about is how "fine" are we.

@@REMcCullick Banshee can travel through walls and does not see doors or closets. And yes by my logic every other ghost execpt these two are D tiers because they are so easy to beat. That is also the reason the game got boring for me after a lot of playing. Early hunt on a small map can be quite dangerous but pretty easy to hide as in all the houses are closets or doors you can hide behind. On a large map it is totally okay as the probability of the ghost being at the entrance is way too low. Frequency of hunts does not bother me at all because I always outrun the ghost as i have my escape route planned beforehand. But when a revenant has a line of sight with me on a large map it means death. Same can be for small maps but there it is obviously easier to break the line of sight. For banshee the same with doors. As I said on my original response. I have not been killed in the game for a very long time until i played a match on prison and had a banshee. I respect your point of view but, I am never having problems with Onis or Demons or any other ghosts except for Revenant and Banshee

@Schellshocked You need to check the powers list again. ALL ghosts can travel through doors during a hunt. I've witnessed this myself with multiple ghost types on multiple maps. Banshees can NOT see through doors or closets, nor can they travel through walls. Those are the powers of a Wraith. (Though I am not convinced they can travel through walls during a hunt. I've yet to see them do it. If they are supposed to, that power may be broken at the moment). A Banshee's power is to hunt at any sanity and know where you were at the beginning of the hunt. Below S tier, it becomes more about how annoying their powers are. Demons, particularly aggressive ones annoy me because constant hunts make it annoying to complete secondary objectives. (Yes, I can outrun the bastard, but each hunt leaves me back where I started with nothing done.) And eventually it may manage to kill me via law of averages. But again, the only three I'd class in that tier. Banshees also have the weakness of having crucifixes work twice as far on them, which in my mind limits their hunting frequency. This actually puts Wraith as "A" Tier king, followed by demon, and then Banshee. Again, in my book. This is because neither wraiths or demons have any hunting weakness, just things that make them easier to identify.

Can someone voluntarily stay by the cameras for a few mins at the truck next time you go there?* *The ghost hasn't tampered with lights, but has opened the door a few times and thrown a couple mugs* *Asks it Are You Friendly 4 times in a row, knowing I'll be in danger if I force it* "BEHIND" from the Spirit Box *HUNT* I hide behind a bed, friend notices the ghost wrote in the book just now, takes picture of it while glitched on the bed "Ok I think the ghost's walking on you" *yells trigger words at the box, ghost kills friend (whose sanity was almost 30% higher anyway)* "SO WAIT WRITING? A DEMON? OK" *takes picture of friend's corpse, writes Demon on journal, leaves house*

I think the Mare is a lot more devious than most people realize. Two of the three evidence types for the Mare require the lights to be off (Spirit box & Ghost Orbs). So not only does the Mare have an increased chance to hunt, there's also likely at least one target in the ghost room.

A lot of this is inaccurate. Shades can be threatening when playing solo and shouldn't be underestimated. Wraiths being able to travel through walls and see through doors during a hunt is a myth. Hiding is just as effective against them as it is against any other ghost type. It's also not any slower than other ghosts. Banshees can be dangerous, but it only has a small chance to use its power. Most of the time Banshees just act like normal ghosts. Jinns are fast far away, not when they are close. Demons don't have any special interactions with crucifixes, only Banshees do.

I think one of the most terrifying things about Wraiths is that they can teleport to the player location on occasion (Only if they're in the building). Had it happen the other day in High School... shit was scary

wraiths are s tier dangerous in houses. Wraiths are dangerous in houses where you reach a dead end before the hunt stops since your only option is to run, but revenants are weak in houses since you can hide super fast. meanwhile they are the other way around in larger maps;

Wraiths can't see travel through walls or see through doors. Hiding against them is just as effective as it is against any other ghost.

This is legit such a great video idea my man. first time watching and subscribed. Love phasmaphobia and and all the different types of ghosts! As a side note, another detail about the Phantom I always like to note is their exploitable weakness, that being if you take a picture of them they will vanish. This does not help much during hunts BUT there have been cases where my teammates and I are really struggling to get the third clue, we are stuck between ghosts; but because we noticed it would quickly vanish after a picture we took earlier we were able to deduce it to being a phantom and win the day! It serves as a sort of soft-confirm. Quicker catch = much safer and another reason why i always have a picture camera on me haha take care bro!

I personally would put Demon in A tier as well, as the sheer frequency of hunts can make progress seem almost impossible. Once my friend and I were on one of the smaller maps and we were making our way back to the van and got hunted 3 times in the process before we got out.

@@thesenate2718 That's exactly why its easy to tell if its a demon. In my opinion, its frequent hunting is its weakness as it gives you the idea that you are dealing with a demon even if you only have 1 or 2 evidences.

When you know what person in your group a banshee is targeting if that person never enters the house a hunt will never occur. I've tested this multiple times with everyone on 0 sanity. Also, once the hunt actually does start because the person the Banshee has targeted finally enters there's no way for it to change targets so other players can run right up to it without penalty. For this reason It's weakness is so profound I'd consider it an F tear ghost.

Hey Nuzzgard! Came to your videos after my fellow Phasmophobia hunter recommended you. Gotta say, I love your content so far! This tier list is very similar to how me and my buddy would rate them as well. We do have to rate the Mare and Demon slightly higher, maybe towards the top of B tier or the bottom of A tier (I know you didn't put the ghosts in any specific order). The more frequent hunts for us with those two ghosts has actually caused the death/near death of us more than it probably should XD And it also really hinders our ability to get evidence sometimes if we can't get back to the ghost room and/or escape the building to get sanity pills and bring our average back up before another hunt starts

Honestly I do play this competitively and on professional. So when I watched this first time on both prison and the farm house this is my tier list which is based on both me playing for real and me messing around. S - Revenant, Demon, Banshee A - Oni, Wraith B - Poltergeist, Jinn C - Yurei, Mare D - Spirit F - Shade (Yurei are harder to find when the team isnt in the van and in a bigger map especially the asylum) (Still wish they add Wight, Shadow, and Ghoul)

cannot tell if this is scary or funny but i will tell my tale: this tale takes place in the school at one of the side exits... we just found out what ghost we was dealing with and all of us said together: FUCK THAT, NOPE, NO THANK YOU, OH HELL NO, there is nothing more horrifying when you are the last one leaving the building just to have the door slam shut on your face... when the door shut i panicked then remembered i'm in danger so i collect myself and turned around scrambling for the nearest room as i scrambled i prayed that the ghost is not near and get to the room in time while hearing my friends screaming like gibbons outside while clambering towards the room i did the BIGGEST MISTAKE i looked around the corner just to see... A REVENANT HAULING ASS LIKE A BAT OUT OF HELL DOWN THE HALL SCUTTLING TOWARDS ME WITH THE LOOK THAT IT WANTS NOTHING BUT TO SNAP MY NECK INTO THE SHADOW REALM AND RELISH IN MY FEAR the worse part is ITS A FACELESS CHILD ON ALL FOURS GLIDING TOWARDS ME LIKE I WAS THE ICE CREAM TRUCK i panicked and try to open the classroom door it will not open I CAN FEEL ITS PRESENCE SLIDING TOWARDS ME by time i open the door and got though i turned and i saw it... IT WAS IN THE DOORWAY i slammed the door shut... BUT THE LITTLE SHIT SLIPPED THOUGH I KNEW I WAS DEAD I JUST ACCEPTED MY FATE... only then for the hunt to end and it just turned around and leave... but it did not... THE LITTLE SHIT GOT STUCK IN THE DAM DOOR SPINNING AROUND LIKE A BAY-BLADE while i'm in shock my friends came barreling in to see if i was alive while cackling like hyenas ONLY TO SEE THIS UNHOLY FIDGET SPINNER SPAZZING OUT IN THE DOORWAY i was kinda scared to open the door but one of my friends did it for me only for the ghost to FLING TOWARDS ME only to vanish we all got out the building started laughing and walking towards the truck WHEN TWO ROTTEN HANDS COVERED MY SCREEN while my body was choking the ghost spawned next to my body and my friends BRICKING IT OUTTA THERE SCREAMING well that is my tale i think what happen at the end was a bug i think what happen was i did die in the classroom but i think the kill animation was delayed with the ghost getting stuck in the door all i know is it was scary at the time tho we all look back at it and cannot stop laughing at it

I was outside in the truck checking for ghost orbs while my friend was inside trying to talk to the ghost. When the orb popped up I was getting ready to go back inside till the door slammed shut. My friend who was in one of the rooms with windows was on the bed trying to avoid it. Man got stuck in the door but glitched it’s way through and slapped my friend silly. Not only did this ghost defy physics, but the man teleported right on top of my friend. Next thing I knew I was all alone with only two evidence and at 40 sanity or a low amount. I went back in while I still had the chance before it starts a hunt and right before I did I got the third evidence. As the ghost hunt happened I managed to slip my way through the door and into the van, putting evidence in. But while I was doing that something crazy happened THE GHOST WAS COMING OUT THE DOOR AND TOWARDS ME I panicked so hard and speedrunned putting evidence in and it was old granny too. I clicked that crap so fast and before she could get her jolly self through to b* slap me, the round ended. I don’t think I’ll get an experience like that again, but if I do I’ll know to click that crap as soon as possible.

Personal tier list: S tier: Revenant A tier: Phantom (they usually tank my sanity and I can’t see them), Demon, Banshee (both early hunters), and Jinn (bye bye sanity, hello mini heart attack when you see them ZOOM) B tier: Spirit (sometimes I get crackhead spirits that decide that they do not care about sanity), Mare (demon but easier), Poltergeist (they act like other ghosts) C tier: Yurei (they just don’t really do stuff for me), Wraith (only reason not d tier is bc I have trouble getting their evidence), Oni (they just kinda vibe), and Shade (usually easy, but solo and crackhead variant) Hiding is straight up broken this patch, so I guess that brings down every ghost a tier or two. You are pretty much invincible in a locker. Wish yurei, polty, and wraith got buffed. Edit: we’ll I got what I asked for. Wraiths are much higher up, but I haven’t been able to do much testing due to reasons, and now every ghost is much harder, revenant and jinn I’d say are same tier now. Jinns are rev speed before 4 meters, when they get close they will be full speed, and they can tank sanity.

from my experience, spirit is one of the most annoying ones. cause it seems that they have a bigger range for killing someone. if i get killed it is always by the spirit cause he kills me from another end of a hallway and i just don't expect it. and my friend has a similar experience with it.

its kind of disappointing seeing the demon so low. Most of us grew up with paranormal activity and insidious/annabelle type movies where the demon is the worst encounter you could witness. I think phasmaphobia should add some feats to the demon tbh I would be happy if they did, Maybe even like throwing the player around the room or something to stop it from running or hiding. Wouldnt care about if it made it easier to guess I just want it more dangerous lol

@@adacatherine Hunts are easier to avoid than find the actual evidence. All you have to do is to hide in the corner of a room, hide in closets or lockers (Which *only* exist in road houses), loop around a table (or whatever) or *just run* . Most ghosts are in the literal sense stupid exept the Wraith, if it is chasing you and you hide in a room right when it was behind you it will take like 3 seconds for it to realise. Also in one Nuzzgards videos, about all the questions in the ouijia board, he anhered the ghost and caused a hunt but it went *in his face* two times and didnt even see him. Also note that ghosts *cannot* hear you during hunts, so you swear it during a hunt :)) .So yea hunts are very easy to avoid, only if you are stuck in a corner with the ghost or nowhere to run *you are dead meat*.

Actually it sees through doors right now. If you don't hide from the doors line of sight and it passes by, you're dead. The walls thing is more difficult to prove, but I can assure you that wraiths are the most trolling ghosts in game, as I had many situations in which it initiated a hunt from a room next to the "official spawn point room" (because of that wall travelling thing, it can just get in another room and start hunting from there) and in one occasion nearly got us killed as he came literally from behind and not from where we have been expecting him to come xD

Also, any ghost can initiate a hunt outside of their room, that's just where they usually come from because that's where they spend most of their time.

Had it warp into a closet with me and immediately start hunting. Managed to get away with that 5 second grace and smudge sticks. But its a right bugger.

This most recent update has thrown this off the to of a sky scraper. All ghosts now move faster during hunters while in line of sight and there's a memory system now for hiding spots.

Nice video! However, some information seems to be based on rumors that have been going around. The Yurei only drains more sanity if you watch it while it manifested itself or during a hunt within 10 meters of you. As of the Wraith: I have never actually heard about that they can look through doors, as far as I know none of the ghosts can, however, all of them can walk through doors if their next random waypoint is on the other side.
