PhD mandatory for teaching BSc/MSc I For Better or Worse ? I

Should PhD be mandatory to teach BSc/MSc students ?
Please do share your thoughts in the comments section. This topic came up in our impromptu discussion about a couple of weeks back. We have not discussed on topics like predatory publishing among others. The goal of the video is to just start a general discussion on this topic.

I want to mention one point here that, There are some topics that are not in the Undergraduate levels. If a person does phD in such topic and later he came to a college to teach. Then actually after 5/6 yrs, he forgot everything about other topics. Then he picked up a book and dictates everything... This actually happes..

Sir graduation level teaching ke liye net hi sufficient hai. Kuch private university se PhD lene wale me bahut experience nahi hota. Yese PhD karnewalo ko to carbon single bond length bhi pata nahi hota

PhD mandatory for master level. Agree 100% But for BSc it's not at all required.. Bcz one should see the research facilities available in colleges.. Person with PhD degree will definitely frustrate in colleges at BSc level.

I think PhD is made mandatory cz its more about the experiences that a PhD student has to undergo while pursuing the degree. It plays a role because students need motivation to move ahead in the field. More importantly, students need to know about the ground reality associated with the subject. Personally, I feel someone with practical experience (they know the practical difficulties that one will face) may turn out to be a better teacher than someone who has only theoritical experience.

Agreed. There is a need for change in the education system. Undergraduate students should be made aware of what they are heading to.. Its not a PhD student that can bring a change in this matter. We might need some change in the system

Such a wonderful discussion I absolutely agree with the mention queries, regarding practical labs sir had mentioned a very severe drawback which we all are facing as a Pg student we need to introduce some advance research related practicals rather than titration. There is something called Teaching Assistantship in IIT's....In which they take CHM1O1 /CHM 201....Also feedback is taken from students. I don't if these happen in Universities.

I agreed! The old fashioned titration still going in every institution they never changed the practical experience on drawing simulation of chemical diagram it can be done to everyone by college professional easily and lots more traditional things should be changed 👍🙏
