As a doctoral student I can't tell you how much your content has helped me and nothing comes close to Obsidian when it comes to research!

I've only discovered Obsidian 2 years into my work as a graduate student. This is invaluable as I start my dissertation process.

I have just discovered obisidian and I cannot tell you that how much this is amazinnfgggggg omg. I feel so powerful. Like you can write and take all your notes but you can also write like you are writing article and cite in obsidian so when it comes to merging findings writings you can just copy and paste from your old notes. It is really amazing. I am kind of making ready my articles beforehand

Wow, I have been binge watching Obsidian videos over the past few days, yet I have been a casual user for 6 months. After watching everything Nick Milo has made, and then I guess I will soak up all your videos, I am finally getting a glimmer of how I will deply Obsidian. No, I am not a student, but I am going to use the MOC system. Thank you, I subscribed and hit the notification.

This was so helpful. I’ve just finished my MA in literature and I’m looking to pursue a PhD. I’ve never been an organized or systems-oriented person, which I consider a weakness-especially as the difficulty of my work and the knowledge demand has increased. Even though I’m still trying to improve at knowledge management and identifying what processes work best for me, it is so lovely to see examples from fields that are easier to relate to my own work. Nothing against STEM, but there seems to be a notice void in the efficiency/productivity space with a focus on higher level humanities.

I did a lot of analysis and decided on Notion. With Notion, I use databases and the idea of having different tables is much more flexible and powerful.

FTR, some of the original work on "productivity" was by the Boston Consulting Group (I think) and they focused their research on ... academics, precisely because they have to be productive.

Using #tags helps me organize code snippets by context. For example if it's a hook or function or WordPress... I'll add those tags.

Coming to the end of the first module of my BA but only started to [seriously] use Obsidian during the past few weeks, with my current assignment. Certainly gonna use it as a primary tool, for my degree, from here on out! :-)

It would have been nice if she would have shown how she does individual notes, because you only can see how she relates the bibliography, but not the ideas or the bits of information.

I'm also a PhD in National agricultural area. But I don't think obsidian shouldn be this kindof form to use. I don't advice to use graph view but creat tag tree for logic route.

Why not use local graph for decluttering the view? Other than that, very cool video

This is a very helpful video, Courtney is brilliant and I loved the mind map she used to organize her thoughts and ideas around her thesis, but was I the only watching the cat in the background and waiting to see if it will move?

My take on Microsoft Word is that, if it’s not going to be printed or if it doesn’t need to be sent to someone else, then Word is the wrong tool for the job.

I would love to use Obsidian. However their licensing model is too restricting to business users. I take extensive notes for commercial use and don't want to spent 50$ on the product when I could use VS Code with plugins instead. Looks like a great product hopefully they change their licensing to be more professional-user friendly.
