I’ve been thinking of cooking for my 10lb yorkies and watching a ton of videos to get ideas. Do you have a recipe you can recommend and feeding amounts. I want to make sure they are getting all their nutrients. I feed my girls 2x daily. Any advice you can give would be great!

Pumpkin Purée! But I agree with you in that the whole recipe is a bit too carb heavy. However, the pumpkin is a great additive and/or separate recipe solution for some digestive ailments in dogs. Thanks for sharing!

I have just started doing the homemade dogfood. With the hundreds of videos out there most of them saying “vet approved”, I have no idea who is actually good to listen too. Im glad I found your channel. I have done research and talked to a vet but honestly Im not sure if my vet knows or not. This is the recipe I use Dogfood recipe 6lbs ground turkey(can also add heart meat or other meat protein i.e. lean ground beef90/10 ground chicken) 5oz beef liver (organ meat chopped) 16oz mixed veggies(carrots/broccoli/spinach/ Bell pepper)all chopped/diced 2cans sardines in water (chopped) 6 eggs(separated) 4egg shells (baked and ground into powder) 1can pumpkin puree 1.5 tbsp ginger powder 1.5 tbsp turmeric 1 teaspoon pepper 1 pint blueberries Heat oven to 375 In food processor add liver and sardines pulse to combine In Large baking pan mix turkey,liver,sardines,egg whites,veggies,pumpkin puree, turmeric,pepper and ginger Cook mixture for 35minutes and remove from oven let cool Once cool add egg yolks,ground egg shells and blueberries. mix well Divide into Tupperware refrigerate and freeze as needed Yes I do cook it but better then store bought crap Anyway love the vids ty

Thanks so much! I'd suggest you cook at lower temperatures for longer period of time to retain more protein digestibility.

I just found this channel. I've been raw feeding my dogs. 51% muscle meat, 25% muscular organ, 12% bone, 4% liver, 8% other secreting organ. and then I'll also add in some supplements depending on the proteins im using. I have kelp, vitamin e, copper, zinc, etc. I buy from local ranchers and farmers in California. pasture raised animals. I've left a lot of information out but so far, how does this sound to you? I've never fed my dogs kibble in their lives since the day they came home as puppies.

It could be okay if the specific organs and animals used are properly paired with the supplements or it could have nutritional gaps that need to be filled. Example providing zinc and copper for chicken and pork but not for ruminant. It really depends on what you use.

@petcubesofficial i switched to premade after doing homemade for so long and i was doing OC raw. its honestly a really expensive downgrade. its disappointing to see my dog not doing as well as she used to. but on homemade, yes I used the paws of prey calculator and I changed up the proteins often. I was adding supplements too depending on the rest of the meal but another nutritionist told me that my dog wasn't absorbing any nutrients at all from the supplements I was giving. i don't really agree with a lot of things that this nutritionist said. they said there's no difference between puppy diets and adult diets. completely ignoring the calcium to phosphorus ratio. anyway hopefully I'll have more time to do fully homemade again because my more sensitive dog did so much better that way

39.2 lbs./14 days for my 120lb 11 month old great dane .98 lb. mushroom 23.5 lb. beef 2.6 lb. chix liver 3.92 lb. pumpkin 1.3 lb. fruit 1.5 lb. sunflower seeds 3.92 lb. fish some sort of calcium like eggs with shells still a work in progress recipe thinking of adding a little bit of rice to make it a little bit cheaper in the long run we are working on a budget our current kibble is jinx and i believe it is a good quality kibble so i am not rushed by any means to switch please give feedback on how i can make it a little bit more cost effective with a dog that eats so much we currently spend about $50 every 14 days on her and this would cost about $120 so over double the cost.

Learned a lot from your videos. We have 12 rescue dogs, from a Great Dane to a yorkie. Would deer liver work? Thanks
@petcubesofficial14 күн бұрын
Thank you so much! Yes deer liver works. Game meat tends to have much better fatty acid profiles.

We, the humans, eat “sticky” bone broth, like beef knees, tendons, etc. boiled down for like 6-10 hours. The broth is sticky on your lips and very high in collagen and cools to a gelatinous gel. The last batch smelled too gamey for me, I felt like I could smell the cow. I have chronic nausea and and I can smell/taste better than most humans (sometimes a blessing, sometimes a curse). I just froze it. I cut it into chunks and throw a few into every pot of “topper” food I make for my senior, ultra-picky eater. I feel like it’s helping his aging joints. I bought expensive joint supplements from the vet’s office ($40 for a jar of 60 treats) and my dog won’t eat it. I have to cut it into tiny pieces, wrap each bit into cheese, mashed sweet potato, chicken skin or raw ground beef, so he’ll swallow it before he realizes what’s inside. Some days I spend 20 mins in the morning cajoling him to take the “treat” balls with the joint supplement hidden inside. I just want him to have smoother knees and less foot pain (I think his feet hurt when it gets cold).
