I bet your skin will be very youthful when you are in your senior years. I enjoy your videos. Your smile is beautiful. Learning how to feed our dog nutritionally has nothing to do with whomever's derogatory comment.

Thank you for this reaction video, lol. I was cringing as well. It helped me make proper adjustments to the meal in cooking for her. I was unsure about the percentage fat of the yogurt as I thought they cant have full fat and was buying fat free greek yogurt.

I’m trying to feed my 80 pound pit bull. I have listened to a lot of KZbin videos. My question is sweet potatoes bad, it seems to be in every kibble. What kibble do you think is best so I can do both fresh and kibble to be budget friendly. Thank you

Thank this was much more helpful then the review! Would yogurt or cottage cheese also be a good way to incorporate calcium into a dogs diet? After doing more research on garlic I was shocked to find out your right. Both my vet and preliminary searches online said that even 1 clove would be highly toxic to my dog, after some more research I found out thats not true at all

You lost some credibility at the start by saying garlic is safe for dog's. Garlic contains N-propyl disulfides and thiosulfates. When these are metabolized by the pet’s body, it causes damage to their red blood cells. Should dogs not eat rice? Your response seemed like it was unhealthy but gave no follow up as to why. You mentioned the vitamins that this was lacking like omega fats, zinc, etc. it would be great if you gave examples of foods we could incorporate that would include the missing nutrients.

I mean, I’m glad there was a part 2 . A lot of people are not able to pay attention apparently. A visual representation would be great for those individuals. Here’s the issue though friends. Dogs are picky Some want ground beef , others want turkey , others want chicken. Your preparation will vary depending on those differences. I think you may have missed the part where you can use the prep in the video he reviewed and alter it based on his information to get what you need in the diet. What I did personally was order with a promo code from farmers dog the three main meals , turkey , beef, chicken. When you do this I would recommend 14 days of food. It will really give you an idea as to what your dog will really take to before you go off prepping something they won’t touch. I do mix it up from time to time so I can have different proteins in the food but the base my dog loves is always in there with less quantities. When you use a service like this it does get expensive after the promo code so some of you will end up making it on your own like I did. What is awesome about farmers dog though is they give you the recipe. There is ALOT involved with those recipes! The nutrients you need the most can be ordered from them in a powder to mix in the food which is a big help when meal prepping. Or you can selectively get the nutrients in bulk and add them yourself from your local store in most cases. When you start on their website all of your dogs info is entered and a specific amount of food is selected and your diet is based off of that. I know your hearing a lot of advocation from me about farmers dog but I recommend this method if your lost in the sauce out there like I was! At this point my dog is in much better shape and he is a 7 year old tri color American bully (not bulldog) as he gets older health problems typically show up for the breed in general. So far he runs, plays, walks, even talks back to me when I want. I know he feels good and loves his food and I don’t have to stress about the random kibble and whatever they just throw in it. I cook a months worth of food at a time and most of it is frozen in individually portioned ziplock bags. I take 2 bags out at night after his last meal of the day and put them in the fridge for the next day. Hope any of this info helps someone.

Could someone knowledgeable answer this question about brown rice? I've read in different sources that although brown rice has a lot of good nutrients, dogs cannot digest it. (I've seen the rice in my dog's poop, and it looks like it just passed through.) Can brown rice be made digestible if you first grind it into a powder and then cook it?

This would be okay minus the rice mixed with kibble is what I collected. Is this correct?

Thank you. I’ve been feeding my my dog home cooked and raw his whole life. He’s nine now, a Rottweiler unfixed male. He’s in really good shape. I recently bought a multivitamin but I think it didn’t agree with him. Is that a concern? I do not get support from our vet. I can’t find a vet that is willing to work with nutrition or offer advice. It’s is frustrating to have to resort to KZbin because often there is conflicting advice. Thank you for your videos. I’m making my way through. Though I’ve been doing this for a decade, I still want to learn more and do better. His favorite treat that he gets on his birthday and Christmas is a freshly killed and skinned rabbit. It is not fun watching or listening to him crunch that cute little critter up, but we are fortunate to be able to give that to him. Please let me know what you think about multivitamins. Could that have made him lethargic just after two days? Or should I take him to the vet for a blood test?

Thanks for this information. I make my pup's food and never was sure of proper ratio. Apparently, I don't need to concern with adding any brown rice or potatoes or quinoa. Big selling point in dog foods is grain-free--how about no carb? I don't think the carbs I've been adding to diet is doing girl dog any favors, she puts weight on so easily.

Dogs can almost eat everything a human can and a lot more, with a few exceptions. Not a lot can go wrong, as dogs have evolved for generations alongside humans. Calling it dangerous just implies that he has a financial incentive for selling a product.

That diet needs organ meat and bone meal for calcium and phosphorus as well as all 3 omegas i use a salmon krill oil and for God's sake folks no carbs whatsoever ever your dog does not need carbs. Carbs equal obesity and diabetes just like us. That diet needs liver and even a couple chicken gizzard and some organic pumpkin puree and i add a clove of fresh garlic finely chopped once a week to keep my dog free of heart worms and other parasites. That's how I make it anyway and my vet was impressed.

How do you feel about raw Chicken quarters, pork roast, ground turkey, canned mackerel. Sprinkled with a powdered organ blend. An added dog vitamin, some brewers yeast. Sauerkraut and raw eggs? It changes a little each day. Sometimes I blend a can of coconut milk, yogurt or buttermilk, liver, gizzards, with mixed veggies, kale, carrots, pumpkin, or sweet potatoes and make a 'gravy' . I squirt fish oil on top of it all.

I would like your opinion on my raw diet mix I use for my 8 year old Bearded collie with a hint of mastiff so he is 90 pounds instead of 60. He has been on this diet since 6 months old and now at 8 years of age he is as lively and bouncy and STRONG as 2 year old. I grind up 100 pounds of chicken thighs and legs in my LEM big bite grinder including bones of course. I add 3% raw beef liver and 3% raw beef kidney and roughly 3% mixed beef and chicken hearts and necks. I also include 5% of a mixture of raw ground up carrots and broccoli. I am trying to mimic what a wolf in the wild would be eating when he makes a kill. I also add one capsule of pharmaceutical grade Omega (lovaza) and one multivitamin (no iron) and one tablet of Glusocamine Chondroitin now that he is a senior. I give him 22 ounces of that mixed with 10 ounces of raw ground beef 80/20 every night. Does this sound good to you? I am a medical professional like you btw so you can talk shop with me LOL. I forgot to add that I crush an eggshell a few times a week and add that although the ground up chicken bones should suffice for calcium I think.
