Its kinda crazy how the first hunt the dog wont know who shot or where the bird dropped but once they figure out what the game is its like they are magicians.

I don’t know where you had your camera placed but I felt like I was actually there. Great camera work and editing! I dove hunt in south Texas (Rio Grande Valley) but I have always wanted to pheasant hunt. Looks like fun.

Haha. Same thing happened to us last year in ND. Second day in, 8” of snow. We did the same thing after two days of scouting and nothing. We were up there late October

@@HokeOutdoors we didn’t come prepared for upland at all. We tried one day on some public land. Found a few birds. My dog was pretty cut up by the reeds. Need to get her a vest and come prepared next time. Great video.

Out of curiosity, when you guys say partridge, are you talking about ruffed grouse or actual partridge? I'm from Maine, and we have always called grouse partridge for some reason. I always thought that was just a Maine thing.

Because it is such a breeding ground for bad habits, like ignoring YOU, because he can ckearly see pheasants running down the rows ,why subject them to overstimulation which causes unwanted behaviors? That you will have to try and get rid of later, running way ahead ,flushing birds out of range etc..... I dont let my dogs go in standing corn period

In my small country of Greece when the ground is covered with snow... It is forbidden to hunt any game. What you are doing is not hunting It is a crime...it is a massacre. Unacceptable

I did a lot of training myself with Leroy. I mainly sent him to the trainer for force fetch because I wasn't comfortable doing it myself. I'm very glad I did, they completed that along with a lot of blind work way quicker than I could've
