There are a lot of things that make no sense about this special but one of the most confusing things to me is Ricky giving his teddy bear to Nicole in the first place. The movie treats it like such a wholesome thoughtful gesture just because it was given to him by his late mom, and sure Nicole was out of line in cruelly dismissing it the way she did just on principle, but... If you're giving someone something that has sentimental value _only to you,_ and decidedly _not them,_ can it really be considered all that thoughtful of a gift? Even if Nicole wasn't shallow, she doesn't seem like someone who would get much joy out of a teddy bear for it's own sake, new _or_ second-hand. I feel like it would've been better if Ricky's gift for Nicole had been something he'd worked hard to _make_ for her. Something that fits her interests but is more expensive in time and energy than it is in money, since he can't afford the mall-bought stuff she's used to. That way, it would make more sense for him to expect her to appreciate it as being "from the heart", and subsequently be devastated when she scoffs at it. Then, perhaps it could be revealed that she didn't realize Ricky's gift was hand-made and had thought it was merely cheap, and changes her ways upon learning about how Ricky slaved over it for days just for her.

I heard at least two rumors about what the deal was with great grandma's lines, because her lines were originally filmed coherently but (rumor 1) the lines were messed up in the export process or (more plausible rumor 2) they did it because they thought it'd be funny. I'm really surprised that J. Rose didn't end up suing the studio.

J. Rose has the issue of apparently not having bothered checking up on Wolf Tracer's animation work. If they'd checked on it earlier on they probably could have shut them down and moved production elsewhere. (Depending on what deals were signed.)

My personal theory about grandma is that she had a stroke a couple of years prior, and while she's gotten physically better she's still having trouble talking, Ricky can understand her because he's known her for so long. Make about as much sense as the rest of the film. And hey, she's said at least one or two full sentences in the movie, so at least the speech therapy is paying off.

I have some information First is the animation. The movie was animated on a software called 3D choreographer. It was a very limited software and was not used for 40 min long movies. It was mainly used in schools, for people to learn animation and to just mess around with. It honesty a miracle the movie was even made. The movie only aired on 3 stations. WABC-tv in New York, on KABC-tv in Los Angels and it might’ve aired in Boston on UPN. The reason it got to air is because Colin knew someone who ran a few stations owned by the WB. Colin told him about the cast, Nancy Cartwright producing and it having computer animation. The way Colin got all the actors is because he had an amazing casting director who got half the cast. And Nancy Cartwright knew a lot of people. The way he got them was he paid them whatever they wanted for a 4 hour job. And the reason the film was just so bad is because the director Colin Slater was very inexperienced with animation. He mainly did music videos. And all the animators we’re learning how to do animation while making the movie.and they blew most of the budget on music and the voice acting. Hope the covers things up UPDATE: after talking to one of the animators I asked him about grandmas voice. Apparently the film was about to air in 5 days and the studio was getting ready to close for holiday. The pcs they used to render the movies crashed. They were able to recover the movie and everything in it. But grandmas audio files crashed and they didn’t notice.
