Makes a couple of those very early off-character Star Wars figures (created from fuzzy b&w screen shots, if they were lucky) seem almost screen accurate in detail when compared to this! I do love it though. For some reason it reminds me of something you might expect to see in 'Yellow Submarine' or something!

Just search foreign movie posters, or African Sack-Posters - they're very odd handpainted posters on old potato sacks and some of the visuals are so weird. They often give action heros atleast a 10-pack. You just have to edit out the movie titles and actor names so people can't cheat.

Found a page on a website called The Hitchcock Zone with Czech and Polish posters for Hitchcock films. Very weird stuff indeed, though I liked the Rear Window one. It has a guy in a wheelchair and feels mysterious, which is a good representation of the film.

It's always fun one something out of my country ends up on these videos... In this case, it's the "Caca" tape. I've actually bought one for my brother last year, from the exact same release as yours. A few bits of trivia on it, while I'm at it: 1. When there's a cedilla (that comma-like thing) on the C, it's read like an S. The title is meant to be read "Cassa". The full title, "Caça-Fantasmas" is a shortened form of "caçadores de fantasmas", which means "ghost hunters". It's sad, but the word "buster" doesn't have an equivalent in Portuguese (it would make translating a few things a lot easier, believe me). 2. From what I can tell, Casablanca Video existed from the late 80s until the mid-90s, and their headquarters were in Lisbon. Their logo was fully animated in 3D, which I don't know if it was made in Portugal. I don't know if you've seen it, but it's kind of charming in its early-CG-ness. 3. The official-looking tape is from the now defunct "Direcção-Geral dos Espectáculos e do Direito de Autor", or "General Direction of Shows and Author's Rights" (nowadays, these things are handled by the Ministry of Culture). They stopped using it by the early 90s, as none of my tapes bought around 1991 and later had it. Loved the video and congrats on the 100k!

Not exactly a Ghostbusters movie variant, but I did just become aware of a German release of the complete animated series on Blu-ray. It's an interesting release since it's in SD and fits on 3 discs. They're region B locked, but still a decent option for anybody who missed out on the Time Life set (since that goes for pretty high prices these days). The recently released volumes from Sony only ended up covering a portion of the full series so importing this German version is good way to get the complete run...

I'd love to know what the Czech artist had to work from. Seems like they were aware of the gadgets, as they include the pack and goggles. My guess on the strange cover for the Czech version was related to hiding western film influences before the fall of communism (not kidding). A movie like Ghostbuaters would have been censored, or more likely, seized as contraband. Making it look like avant garde bull shit would have been a perfect way to smuggle it. I'm just speculating, but I wonder if this was common practice.
