Phenakistoscope, a paper model

The Phenakistoscope is the forerunner of Zoetrope. When looking through the slits in front of a mirror, you can see the moving images. As drive the base was used by Zoetrope model by Rob Ives. More information on:

Das Phenakistiskop ist der Vorgänger vom Zoetrop. Beim Blick durch die Schlitze vor einem Spiegel, kann man die bewegten Bilder sehen. Als Antrieb wurde die Basis vom Zoetrop Papier-Modell von Rob Ives verwendet. Weitere informationen auf:

Do you need a camera to see this move properly, without a blur ???

Phenakistiscopes give the easy way to see moving pictures. It exists since 1830. Film camera only from 1889. The video recordings represent the viewing with the eyes.
