Just to point out for those confused: as with the Robin amiibo, the amiibo Lucina is NOT the same Lucina from Awakening. It is the Smash Bros version, which is why the Awakening trio all notice something is off about her and don't think its the same Lucina they know.

My theory is this- They went with Anankos to save their world. As I ship Lucina/Inigo, Lucina had to stay back to perform the Awakening, in case Chrom dies. Inigo never remarries or anything. As for Odin and Selena, they were already together in Awakening (as I ship them). So, if Ophelia exists, it totally makes it okay.

Zack Arin Outrealm shenanigans with alternate dimensions says every pairing is canon, this is meant to be intelligent systems way of keeping fans happy with the the characters they ended up pairing. If Chrom and Sumia was a sure fire canon that would have been a locked marriage, but it isn't and yet when Chrom marries Olivia it leads to a child other than Lucina who carries the brand where as the other potential siblings do not. I'm assuming you didn't click the link did you? Also just to let you know in the Knights of Iris poll in Japan the most popular pairing for Chrom was with Olivia (with the exception of female Robin)

However some pairings are a lot more hinted at in context like Lon'qu and Lissa because Owain physically looks like his father, but it's that they don't face the screen the exact way also because shielding arrows is heavily Lon'qu thing with doing it with protecting Lissa and Owain says his father shields him the same way and now with Fates because of the logic Owain uses in deciding to become a magic user because of his mother Lissa and by that logic he decided to become a swordsman like his father in Awakening Lon'qu. Also you have to consider the oddity with how Chrom and Olivia is the only pairing that results with a child other than Lucina carrying the brand in her left eye, but for Inigo it's the opposite and instead his right eye and even as characters they are opposites of each other with Lucina being serious and Inigo being playful. Inigo even looks a lot like Chrom just that his hair is more kempt than Chrom's hair. There's also even supports in Fates that help support him being Chrom's son too such as his support with Keaton mentioning his feat of insects a 2nd time with the 1st being in Awakening as Lucina's sibling support. I consider Lon'qu to be Owain's canon father and I consider Robin to be Severa's canon father to a degree as it makes the most sense to me. The Lucina shown here isn't the same Lucina from awakening though. All the amiibo characters are from the Smash canonically. The Lucina that Severa, Inigo, and Owain know is still in the Awakening world they time traveled to thanks to Naga.

In my honest opinion Robin x Chrom is way more head canon than Sumia and Olivia, they depend and support each other a lot as a couple or not and they practically are the closest pair in Awakening because of how much the story line brings them so close together and truly care for one another, Nintendo sorta did a bad representation with sumia in the opening because awakening is about different shippings and pairings a person wants together, but in my opinion Robin x Chrom makes more sense they are together through thick and thin, they're even in smash together lol

Read the comments. But in general they didn't want to make certain characters/ siduations canon. As you should know Robin can have different looks and names as you want so if they were the same Robin from awakening that would make Malse Robin Conan etc etc

Naina Dhaliwal I did. No one, absolutely no one mentions the fact that they could be from both. Robin, in his trailer, is in Arena Ferox with Chrom and Lucina, meaning there's a big chance the default look is the canon look. Even then, the multiple universe theory exists in Fire Emblem, meaning that look was chosen for Smash because that universe exists. Lucina remembers the three children clearly. She might seem different because Smash changed her to be more fighting prone. Robin lost his memories again, so he's not reliable EXCEPT for the fact that after you beat him, he remembers fighting alongside his friends in Awakening. In case you're wondering, the reason he said he was from a world where fighting beats tactics is likely that he transported to Smash from Awakening. Even though these are hunches, the same could be said about the other theory. It's hard to prove Robin's case because of memory, but Lucina is very likely to be from Awakening first.

+Yuu Hyakuya in the end it doesn't matter because of the multi universe thing. We can see comments of people who had indigo as lucinas brother, I agree with the Robin thing. But the characters obviously have some memory of their background and past history. In my opinion the characters from smash Robin and lucina ARE from awakening then went to smash, but the thing is they are not from the same universe/awakening game as the three children characters. This would explain why they say they are similar to the people they know but not them, and why lucina knows them, it's just that it is them but not the same character from their universe.

Canon in fandoms is usually the "true" or "real" continuity. So what really happened. So in terms of FE a lot of people say that the Chrom and Sumia pairing is what really happened in Awakening. The talk is about how Inigo/Laslow can have a crush on Lucina when they are siblings in some peoples playthrough, and the argument to that is usually that Chrom and Sumia is canon.

In terms of why are her siblings fighting her. For starters, Inigo/Laslow is the only one of the three that can be Lucina's sibling. Owain/Odin is her cousin, and Severa/Selena is just a friend or ally. As to why they are fighting, well. Through a series of events, spoiler events, Severa, Owain, and Inigo ended up in the world of Fates. Fates has amiibo compatibility so Lucina can be fought in the game, and if you have Selena, Odin, or Laslow in your army they can fight Lucina.
