Anyone who talk's shit about Phil is just extremely uneducated about the whole thing or very jealous. Phil is the reason Pantera became who they were. Yes all the guys were great musicians's but untill Phil came along they weren't planning to go heavier and loose the spandex anytime soon. I just saw and met Phil recently and he sounded GREAT and was drinking non-alcoholic beer during his show and he was a very nice guy when we got to meet up with him afterwards. Phil has done THOUSANDS of shows and im sure it keeps his voice sounding rough and if ya haven't noticed he sounds like that in EVERY video (yes ive watched them all) and is actually well known for his southern drawl. Phil is one of the best songwriter's metal has ever seen and their songs withstand time and sound just as badass today as they did 20 years ago. Very few can say that.. And for any haters on here Phil wrote a song for you and its called irrelevant walls and computer screens. Its just a shame the kid's nowadays don't have a Pantera to listen to and grow up with and instead gotta deal with black veil brides and asking alexandria sounding bullshit. What a shame. And anyone talking about Phil is back on heroin again really need to GET A LIFE. The man has moved FAR BEYOND dope so maybe its time you all do as well. Rock On Phil!! Pantera=BEST METAL BAND EVER. Yes EVER.

Darren Middaugh agreed. He's got like 30+ albums under his belt. Pantera,Superjoint,Down,Illegals,Scour,Necrophagia, Viking Crown, Arson Anthem, Southern Isolation. Lots of stuff & it's all great.New album comes out in about a week. Cant wait.

I love Phil, love listening to his stories. As far as his voice, I am amazed every time I hear him at how amazing he sounds still with the way he has to sing! First concert, Pantera Boston 1999, never been the same since! :-)

I saw Phil in 2018, at Slayers last show in Asheville, NC. When Pantera was huge, I was in high school and was listening to Pearl Jam. I’m bummed I missed them in the 1990s, but better late than never. Their talent is breathtaking.

I remember the first time I saw Pantera on Headbanger's Ball. So blown away. I felt like somebody finally got it right besides Metallica. Liked, never loved Slayer. I would put Sepultura in the big 4 actually.

They never were glam . It was british heavy metal influence ... It was the club s game to have a gig . But they didnt like glam even back then . Thrash and Speed influence is already perceptible on Out for blood , Project , Killers etc.. I am the night was heavier . It just Terry def leppard vocals which didnt suit the music ( even he s good ) . Poofy hair and tight pants , even extreme bands had back then .. Power metal is another level of course with Phil. And so on.. It was a complete logical and coherent evolution .

Phil needs to understand that Pantera were more than a 'super-group' because even that label doesn't do them justice! This ego side that he is showing in this video is not what he means at all. You can't fool a (fool) or a fan that has looked into your soul as much as you have expressed in your music, it doesn't seem natural. wish you would understand your legacy because I do! Well .. it was more Heavy metal , power metal even not that different that what Quorthon and Morbid angel had even in 1986 - same era or... Judas Priest .. People are sadly mistaken . It was a general thing in 80s , not just the horrible glam bands . Overkill looked glammer than this in 1982 and everybody seems to forget that and just say bullshit comparing 80s Pantera to Poison . Pantera was Heavy metal.... Judas Priest , Raven. VAN HALEN influenced and stuff ..with already a Heavier direction at each record . Stop spread the myth .
