This is a proper interview. None of this "What's your favourite colour" type bollocks. I've been a Pantera fan since 1992 and Phil has been a God to me. I love the passion he has for damn near everything - he's in so many bands and he works his ass off. I like the questions being asked and that the interviewer doesn't INTERRUPT! And the interviewer KNOWS his stuff!
@geekrockrats10 жыл бұрын
Even before this got to the middle I was thinking thank you for not over editing this. Every word spoken is necessary and it's a far more in depth interview than you normally get. Thanks again
@RevivalHouse10 жыл бұрын
We really appreciate this compliment geekrockrats. The way it works, is the artist rep will tell you "how much time you got".. and they're usually adamant on getting you outta there, but Phil WANTED to keep it going. There was a moment where we did get stopped for time. We of course had to edit the interruption out, but basically Phil was having such a nice time and thought it was a great interview and fresh and gave us an hour. And since we only had prepared for the 20-30 minutes or whatever via his reps, WE RAN OUT OF VIDEO SPACE. And it was too priceless to edit. Anyway, sorry for the rant, we're just stoked you enjoy it. Thanks!

awesome interview. Glad to hear intelligent questions thrown at anselmo besides the usual, hey hows the tour, you still talk to vinnie, hey what about a pantera reunion crap. Good to see him in good spirits as well. Marzi fucking rules and his statement about technology is diminishing creativeness is 100% accurate. The illegals are awesome.

Wooh it was so worth watching this interview part show! Look at that energy in the crowd and on stage. WOW People are just freeking amazing how they judge before they hear someone say something, then after they hear what’s said, they ignore the very thing you are about. Love man not war. A ride down the icy block and someone asks me what it’s like being on my bicycle in the winter. I say so, then she says, “Oh I just wanted to know.” (A little bit of my opinion.) Unholy.

met marzi in '98, he used to work at Mars Music in Houston and i would just follow him all day listening to his stories, one of them being that Dimebag stole a bunch of riffs he used on the cowboys from hell album. and when you heard him play, you knew he wasn't lying. he had this way of picking that sounded like he was using one pick, i stared at both his hands trying to find the trick for hours....

Says he's been championing Portal for years, listens to them constantly and takes credit for making them a bigger band yet gets the name of their first album wrong which is even featured in the section of Black Houses that he uses for their intro. I respect him but that annoys me.
@Celio198918 жыл бұрын
okay I love Phil. Clearly he's a very intelligent guy and one of the best frontmen/vocalists as well as one of the best songwriters in music today, but I do have to take issue with his comment regarding Portal that anyone who doesn't like them isn't "sophisticated enough" to understand them. That is hands down one of the most arrogant and condescending things you can possibly say to someone who doesn't share the same opinion as you. People aren't stupid or unsophisticated just because they don't like something that you enjoy.
