Last fall, Xigera looked like she could be any kind of filly, including winning Churchill Downs' Falls City. She had a rocky start to her 4-year-old season, getting drilled in the G1 LaTroienne but then running second to a very good Scylla in the Shawnee. Now she's training great heading into Saturday's Fleur de Lis, where she has a chance to show she's right up there with her division's best. We catch up with trainer Phil Bauer, who talks about the filly as well as her name and having what might be the only private trainer's job in Kentucky and one of the few in the United States.
