A great gentleman, and also a great drummer, full of humility and talent. through Genesis and solo. Thank you Phil Collins for what you brought us, for me as a drummer, as well as the whole world, and will still bring us moments of musical happiness, and also of conviviality

Phil is the Frank Sinatra of his generation + a songwriter, producer, actor, and arranger. Total RESPECT.

Sinatra never wrote a song, played an instrument, or produced a record.

His Berlin 1990 concert is awesome. One of his very best.

The serious tour was my first of 5 phil concerts. Thst was the best Era as the songs where performed very heavy with strong piano, rich keyboards and more. After that, the live shows became pop oriented in sound with light keyboards, no piano and lots of background vocalists. Gone was the rich rock sound. So this Era is my favorite. Especially since the sound is so organic.

phil seems so stressed in this video, think about it he has Lily an 8 months old baby and all the expectations of a fantastic performer. such a professional. I hope he is looking after himself now he is retired. Hr has given so much of his life giving so much pleasure to everyone else.

Wow...his daughter Lily is only 8 1/2 months old he said! Now she's a stunningly beautiful superstar actress! Time flies 😔

Yeah, but what you don't know is that when Collins' wife & toddler Lily were with him on the Genesis tour, he had a fling w/his old girlfriend & told his wife he was getting back together w/her, which never happened and broke up his family. So, Lily didn't grow up w/his Pop around.
@MWayne-zz1cr Жыл бұрын
@@filmneye I know, he wrote about it in his fantastic autobiography. He clearly regrets the whole episode. C'est la vie.

1997-1999 Collins Big Band! Wanted Buddy Rich as a director!! But not bad getting Quincy Jones instead, eh? He was such a great rock and fusion drummer (Brand X).

I like how they announced these tours in little boring rooms or hotel banquet rooms, when the damn tour was all over the world in front of massive crowds. You’d think this dude was some random artist playing a local winery and this was his announcement. Also, this was an insanely good tour.

Thanks for sharing. Very interesting. I think the influence of Hats by The Blue Nile on We Can't Dance is underestimated.

Anybody wondering who " he, with the yacht is". Just as you would turn off garbage on TV, this is same when conversing with people who don't offer value inspiration , just clogging your very spirit being vexciaous stagnating your energy flow, you wRn them and they continue, like TV , SHUT THEM DOWN. If they are family , treat them as rude interviewer , choose your friends and topics carefully You have a lovely accent Phil , love from USA

With the end of the Invisible Tour in '87, Phil seized the surfboard. At _Buster,_ the shark was spotted. By time time of the Serious Tour in '90, he was aloft, high above the shark. At the end of the WCD tour, he was coming down the other side and splashed down with Both Sides. With DITL and _Tarzan,_ he flew over it once more.
