Phil Collins originally wrote the song you’ll be in my heart for his daughter Lilly when she was first born. You’ll be in my heart also won the Oscar for best original song at the 2000 oscars. It beat out the song blame Canada from south park the movie, and as a result he was parodied on South Park

Fun fact: *NSYNC sang with Phil Collins in the Trashin’ the Camp song. Also, in the original book by Edgar Rice Burroughs, Tarzan does discover the cabin himself earlier in life, even teaching himself how to read. Disney did have to make liberties to make it simpler and more family-friendly, but I totally recommend the first Tarzan novel for anyone interested.

This was my first Disney movie ever and it is still in my heart. •Kala-Patron Saint of Adoptive Mothers •As to the Elephants' apparent knowledge of geography, my father would tell me, "They're talking elephants, speaking English rather than Swahili, and that's not your first concern? •I have Hobbit feet, so I might be fine. •To clarify, Clayton meant that each gorilla was worth about £300 (Pound Sterling being British currency), which would be about £1,890 or $2,600 in today's money. In short, he's set to make a small fortune. •Definitely one of Disney's darkest villain deaths.

Tarzan and Jane is one of my favorite ships because yes. Just yes. Don't at me. For my art side, this movie really hits all the right spots of why I love the usage of 2D and 3D for some scenes. Yes, 3D was involved mostly for the backgrounds to get that cinematography look like the sliding on vines/branches, and when the gorillas appeared with Jane looking at them. One of the animators here on Yt explained it since it was his work that really put this movie on the map (of course with his team as well).

Unfortunately, the video that shows it appears to have been removed from KZbin, so I can’t really prove it. This movie is filled to the brim with messages and social commentaries, like the most obvious ones sure are the animal hunting/abuse and finding your place, but there is other ones like prejudice with a little hint of bullying like Kerchak never accepted Tarzan when he was little, how greedy and deceitful people can be like Clayton, or how sometimes you start doing a thing then you realise that you're making a gigantic mistake by doing so and sometimes you do even feeling forced to. This always was a Disney thing to do with the movies but it's way more appearent and darker in the animated classics.

Can’t say I watched Tarzan as much as others as a kid, but it still such a good movie. Phil Collins is a genius. For when you’re looking for your next animated series, I’d suggest Carmen Sandiego on Netflix. It’s based off an educational video game I used to play, and they have a small bit in each episode that play an homage to that fact. I watched it because I used to play the game, and it’s really good. It also has Gina Rodriguez and Finn Wolfhard in it.

To me i always say Kerchak's deal being that he thought Tarzan would have no true loyalty to apes because he isn't one. That given the chance Tarzan would go with his own kind and never look back. The fact that given that exact scenario Tarzan chose to return home and protect the apes from the mess he caused proves to Kerchak that Tarzan really does care and their differences don't change that. It was never about thinking Tarzan could bring doom to the gorillas. It was always about believing Tarzan was too different to really care about them.

Not really. Not sure about the book but within the context of the animated movie Kerchak's aversion/ambivalance towards Tarzan was Kerchak not believing Tarzan was "one of them," meaning he has no real loyalty towards the apes. Kerchak actually had a moment of kinda being ready to accept Tarzan as "one of them" and his son when Tarzan defeated Sabor and presented the dead leapoard to Kerchak, but the moment was interrupted by Clayton's gunshot. Tarzan returning from the boat ride to save his ape family is an event that is an extension of that Sabor moment and sements Kerchak's opinion and acceptance of Tarzan. Something that should be noted is that Tarzan basically goes through discrimination in both of his worlds for superficials things such as his appearance (different from the apes) and his lack human civilization ettiquette (humans, mostly from Clayton here).

I know it's not what Disney was going for, but the JAGUAR that Tarzan kills is more likely the child of the one that killed his parents. But more importantly, we absolutely DO need to bring back HULLABALOO!

It's actually leopard lol. Jaguars are found in the Americas only and this movie takes place in Africa. And I believe it's confirmed that Sabor (the one Tarzan kills) is also the one that killed his parents but yes you're right in that it would probably make more sense for it to be the offspring (timewise, idk how long leopards live irl though).

It's a lot of mature and adult themes presented in mature and subtle ways. And then on the surface: no princesses, mother/son not father/son or father/daughter... "DUDE WITH DREADS grinding on his feet in the jungle was supposed to be to be cool, bruh.... what were they they thinking" Easy to see how it gets overlooked. But obviously so good in its substance.

This was one of my favorite Disney movies when I was little. 😭 I loved the music so much, that my parents bought me the CD and I’d listen to it constantly. The song You’ll Be In My Heart resonated with little tiny me and brings me to tears now. 😭 The nostalgia hits me so hard, man.

Phil's drumming fits Mark Mancina's score perfectly. 🙂 He said in an interview that although Trashin' The Camp sounded simple, it was the most difficult song to write for the soundtrack. 😊 I don't know if it appeared on the end credits, but there is a kind of scat version of the same song with Phil and 'N Sync. 😉
