I don't think Phil is particularly bothered by it though - judging by the award show where he won the awards solo and called Dan up on stage to accept them with him anyway. The way Dan's childhood was messed up above and beyond anything sane, I would expect he needs ongoing affirmation more than Phil does, and Phil is well smart enough to just be glad he's getting what he needs.

I hope you meant to say that the only reason Dan is even a KZbinr is because Phil encouraged him from the start, because THAT's true. Phil wasn't even particularly popular when Dan started. A lot of fans say that Dan is twice as popular because he's good-looking, and while that's definitely a reason, no one points out that Phil does a lot of personal videos, like vlogs and tags, while Dan talks about relatable things that are both funny and meaningful. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to put Phil down because I think they're both amazing, but wow get your head out of that silly fangirl cloud.
