So I got this Kom back in 2015 in a team motor pacing session. If you look at the ride a few of the guys there are now pro. Then Browny wanted it so he got a lead out from Bobridge and a few hitters. Then Jai got it recently on a motor pace. Not steep enough for Phil but an awesome effort solo

the dude with phil in the commentary did mention a few guys were out there with jai. so maybe he got to spend a lot of time in the draft.

He was in a bunch of 12 same goes for most guys in the top 25, I guarantee Phil's time is the fastest solo

If you come back go to Tasmania or Victorian Alps. WA and SA are renowned for being pancake flat with a few lumps.

With those speeds you should consider to get more aero by getting a aero bike or even maybe a TT bike.

@@payno24-7 I'm sure that is one possibility but I'm also sure that's not the way he achieves his power. And even if someone does it that way it's still a big achievement.

Perth is known for the morning easterly, especially throughout summer, and it can get pretty strong. I'm sure people got most of their PRs in those conditions. When you have 20mph easterly behind you, your watts take you further :)

Nice work Phil, Although im sure you will concede a 5.5kg full aero bike would have done the trick given you were doing 30mph...

Easy climb IMO, for some reason you just carry speed on this climb more than any other.
@lebowskii98_9
@lebowskii98_9 5 жыл бұрын
Firstly, this should not be considered as a climb. It's a short drag at best. 4% average! Secondly, a group of good riders could quite easily smash this and is probably one of the main reasons why Phil put out so much more power in comparison and was quite a long way off for such a short "climb".
