This has always been one of my favorite OTR programs, the comedy still hold up today.

This is an interesting episode because in 1938, Mr. Harris was involved in a real life nightclub brawl with RKO Studio executive Bob Stevens at the Trocadero over Alice Faye. This was before Phil and Alice were married. Mr. Stevens and Ms. Faye had just ended their relationship at the time. As far as I tell, Jack Benny's writers never brought it up on the Jell-O Program for laughs. But on Phil's show, he probably thought enough time had passed to get a laugh out of it.

dattakafka odell Does anyone know if the phrase " I know a guy" originated on this show as spoken by Frankie Remley? I have been trying to figure out the origin. I wonder if this is it
