Good show. 1970 - was possible to get walk in tkt for Chelsea v Leeds. How times change. Another 5-1 win would do me fine. We were great. Was then working with day release printers, Chelsea fans from Hayes, early cherry red Dr Martens adopters to boot (no pun intended) among them. Next class was full of red faces as well as boots.

Talking of FA Cup marathons. I remember the Quarter Final round in 1975 v Ipswich. 0-0 at Portman Road. 1-1 in the replay at ER (McKenzie last minute equaliser). Second replay at Filbert Street on a Tuesday night. 0-0. Third replay 2 days later again in Leicester when we lost 3-2. Heart breaking and exhausting.

It says a lot that teams are willing to pay decent fees for Adams, Sinisterra, Harrison, probably Wober, probably Roca, but no one is gonna pay a penny for Aaronson or Rasmus. Absolute bums.

Re: Anger in football - isn't there a very long history of this dating back to the early C20th when typically male only crowds escaped the weekly drudgery and hardship of factories and mines to vent off their feelings as a crowd on a Saturday afternoon without the gaze of the law, their wives and mothers (and the later television cameras and cultural hypersensitivity). As recent events have shown there is a lingering resentment in the game to cultural changes (e.g. the feminization of football) as well as technical changes like VAR (let's talk about that possible offside for 5 minutes and then disallow a perfectly good goal).

Anger issues in football have always been an issue. Look at what used to happen at games back in the 1970's both on and off the pitch. It is nothing like that now. I would happily take my grandchildren to a game these days but would never have done so back then.

Enjoy Bournemouth I mean he probably won’t stick around if things get a bit difficult, will no doubt spent any time during dire periods on the medics table. Rather have the slight loss than a disruption to the dressing room. He is talented but I’d rather have players willing to stay and try to get promotion who maybe aren’t as naturally talented.
