Another acoustic clip from one of the best guitarists of all time. Besides his incredible talent and skill on the guitar, his songwriting is poetic, and beautiful. Enjoy.

I saw this guy with my dad back in 2007 or so, he was phenomenal and completely underrated. My dad showed me the album “master and musician” when I was a child and I immediately fell in love.

I don't believe most people can understand or appreciate the accomplishments of this man. I just shake my head & pity them. He has treasures in heaven unspeakable & full of glory that he's been laying up in heaven for decades...he needs no other affirmations.

Phil you know I am your greatest fan! Well, I try to be, and I love to play, too, although you are still the best in my book! I remember when this album first came out and I was at an Amway meeting, didn't really care about the meeting, I was just playing your cassette of The Master and The Musician at my table, tryin to turn everyone on to your music! That was circa 1980! Wow! Loveya man!

I remember Phill playing this at Calvary Chapel in the early 1970s. It was then, and still is a deeply moving piece by a man that God has given an immense amount of talent. He was a sweet-natured man who had gone through tremendous loss over his life, including that of his baby. Still, there was his faith in God that sustained him, and his beautiful guitar to soothe him. Thank you for posting this video. I suggest you make a personal journey of ALL his music over the last 1/2 century...it will just get better and better.

Thanks so much for this clip. I totally agree about Phil being one of the world's best guitarist. I once read an interview with Hendrix. Hendrix was asked, "what's it like to be the best guitarist in the world?" Henrix replied, "I'm not the best guitarist in the world. You wanto to hear the best guitarist in the world? Listen to Phil Keaggy". Thanks again mate!

It's a variation of the songs from "Master and the Musician". Beautiful album. The CD front to back tells a story, and ends with the most beautiful rendition of Amazing Grace I've ever heard.

The Master and Musician was the best story album i ever heard any where. i bought it the first day it hit the shelf. I had a chance to see him on a tour with Hadley Hockensmith doing rythym and stuff. after a few songs into the show i just watched Hadley play because Phil was just way too over my head!! L O L

There's alway going to be someone "better" if you're going to break down and tear apart for the sake of bolstering whatever argument you want to make. Be bored if helps your cause. I love the balance and contrast he brings to just about every piece, and his overall attitude makes him a fav of mine.

Even though it's impossible to place artists in some kind of order based on how talented, or "good" they are, I would have to say Keaggy IS the most versatile and accomplished guitarist I've ever heard or seen. If you haven't seen him, you OWE it to yourself to do so. It's an absolutely amazing experience... The Olsen guitar he's using is like the one James Taylor uses and is made in Minnesota, I believe. Keaggy played at Paul McCartney's daughter's wedding....that's a good gig!

I've played for about 3 years, and as long as you can nail the finger picking and ignore some unnecessary (or more or less unhearable) notes, you can do it pretty easy with some practise. When or if you do succeed, try and play it with all those other notes in and it sounds great.
