Agreed. Though it may be because he’s a dick. About 20 years ago, I watched him play at a church in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada to a very welcoming and appreciative crowd of a couple of hundred. He barely spoke to the audience and at the end of his show, he just left! No appearance at the merch table. No photos with fans or autographs. No explanation from management. Nothing! Just a total, self-absorbed dick!

This song is from the album "The Wind and the Wheat". Its from 1987 and is still my favorite all time album of any genre. Over the years, I've bought several copies to give away as gifts. I remember working alone one evening while this was playing. Suddenly, I had the sence that someone very close to me had just left. It took a few seconds to realize it was just that the album had ended. I don't know how he does it but it felt like a caring friend was in the room with me.

My Brother in Christ, Phil Keaggy! He is one the world's greatest guitarists! When I became a Christian in, '78, he inspired me to change my Rock style electric guitar playing in many bands to play unplugged [acoustic] guitar. I play now for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! This mellow type of guitar work is so relaxing and therapeutic to people that hear me play, my family and for myself to be strong with my physical disability! God Bless!

Phil has made such a HUGE impact on so many over the past 50+ years. And yet, because he confesses to be a pro-life Christian with biblical values, he has been largely ignored by the mainstream industry. But you get amongst any group of experienced & seasoned (older) guitarists and they will definitely have heard of Phil Keaggy & have great respect for his great talent & creativity! They may or may not agree with his Christian beliefs or family values but they respect him as a very intelligent, witty, humble, genuinely kind & generous human being who knows how to make an audience smile & shake their heads in amazement how he pulls off such incredible stuff on his guitar.

I saw Phil play in Glass Harp when they warmed up for the Kinks in 1969 at Ludlow Garage in Cincy. He blew me away and I bought all of the Glass Harp LP's and he still amazes me. He played a sunburst Les Paul and I think he still has it. One of the underrated guitarists in the world.

Phil Keaggy has mastered the art of music. He's always been one of the the most influential guitarists I've ever known. I’m a Christian and juat started guitar. I’m a huge fan of jam band music and bluegrass but I felt God was saying I needed to step back. Was really looking for something where a Christian was testing his own limits as well as that of the instrument. This looks promising so far.
