The Phil Lesh Quintet was the best jamband in all the land from 2000 - 2003ish. These 5 guys have a fantastic musical chemistry & they kill it every show.

I spoke with Rob B. at a DSO show a while back. He said being in the Q stretched all 5 musicians beyond their previous capabilities. He said all 5 of them shared this feeling.

You got that right. I saw the boys many times. When the Q came along we knew we had something special. I saw the whole summer run in 2001. If you don't remember you can be excused 'Cause it could never be reproduced

@@therealrobstark2916 Ya. Jimmy has played will Phil and Friends in the past. Maybe in Furthur too? Not sure. I know when WSP first wanted Jimmy, he couldn’t because he was under contract playing with the Dead members in one of their incarnations. He knows their songs and plays them WELL!
