God I miss Derek :/ Such a loss from the show, I don't like the gangster characters in EastEnders normally but derek felt like a phil mitchell version of the Brannings. Going on about family and bullying the square, they should've had him go back inside, not killed him off so quickly. None of the other Brannings have the temper and aggressive loyalty that Derek had, his death was a loss in the long term.

phil and derek had good rivalry they should have continued the feud but phil's biggest rival was steve, they had so much hate for each other great rivalry

Dereks biggest issue was inconsistency one minute he was a force that could rival phil then he was a comedy character then when it was too late they tried it again.

They probably didn't carry this feud on because they introduce derek's kids and they all left in a space of 2 years so they weren't on the show long. Derek was good at first like when he punched tyler ,battered michael, the way he was speaking to phil in prison and the way pat talked about him like he wasn't a man to be messed with. I reckon this feud could of got better if they carried it on but the writers messed it up again. Then they introduce carl then Is like kirsty used to speak about carl like he wasn't a man to mess with okay he nearly got phil killed but he was a waste to be honest. I reckon steve owen and phil mitchell had the best feud to be honest it went on for a few years as well
