Yes, I completely agree! I think he smiles more with Phyllis in the picture. You can tell that he loves that girl and she makes him proud! ALL these years later and Phyllis has made Phil a gentle, softy. I think Ms. Kay would have gone more years without him showing up at birthday parties WITH a gift! Phyllis definitely had a hand at Phil getting her that necklace. I hope he does more surprises more often, even if it's a garden gnome wearing a Saints uniform. Everyone’s love language is different. Some guys aren’t big on gift giving but give in many other ways. Time, affection, traveling, etc. Some men just give money/gifts but then are rude and demeaning towards their wives. Watching Phil and Kay you can tell they have a good, solid marriage. @@patervin9019 - You must have a very low standard indeed. My standard is a lot higher. The Bibles standard is a lot higher also. It very clearly says that a man who does NOT provide for his family is basically a barbarian (caveman/animal). Providing the basics is the LEAST he could do. You think because he's rich he doesn't OWE his family a share of that wealth? He would never have gotten this far without his families support. The Bible clearly says that a man is to "cherish" his wife. Cherish is an old word, used a lot less today than in older times. It is much deeper than love. It is like holding something delicately, something very precious. Attending a birthday party is not an adventure, a quest where you need great valor, weapons of war.... You just need to show up and pretend you love your wife. If you can't do that then you don't love your wife. There is little that I enjoy more than a good home cooked meal. Especially one full of flavor with savory sides. If I were Miss Kay and my hubby didn't even attend my once a year special day.... he wouldn't get anything more than McDs and he'd only get that by getting it himself. I still love Phil but that reveals a cruelty to me I never would've guessed. I've made several "husbands" look horribly bad for not giving their women gifts for special occasions. Miss Kay is a very gracious woman. God Himself will reward her. I feel for her.
