WCML Freight at Wigan 09th July 2012

Todays Traction Action once again takes place at Wigan North Western. Staying late again we have the chance to see classic electric locomotives in action, in fact todays electric offering was quite spectacular with the inclusion of four, yes FOUR class 92s one a single working in addition to the usual 86s and 92 Tesco.
The 92 fest was the 4Z62 from Carlisle to Warrington Arpley, this was a return to service test for 92025 & 92027 as well as a proving run for a number of new coal traffic flows. While it may seem that this train is overpowered only one locomotive is actually hauling the train, the rest are dead in tow.
Watch them sparks on the northbound 86s!

You must of had a great day! I mean in a some what chronological order you saw a departamental something (the one with the flats), a Colas 66, a MPV, another depart. unit (dunno the official name, the hsbc rail one), a 325, a class 70, a class 92 towing three others, class 20s on nuke flasks, a/the Malcome Rail 66, a pair of 86s, and again and a/the DB 92. We never get any of that. Just 350s. Lucky as.
