Because they are not taking DNA tests. Many of them must have been getting information on people who aren't even related to them.

How about resurrecting this series: Intriguing to watch, and helps greatly to incorporate Black history into American history, whether simple or complex--all of us are so intermingled. Fascinating.

Here is a tid-bit about the Nigerian prince story - I worked at a very large postal facility back when this scam was going on. We used to received trays and trays of this scam letter from Nigeria. It was staggering the amount of letters they must've been sending to suck people into this scam.

When she said a stowaway from Portugal I knew they were gonna mention Cape Verde. Since I am Cape Verdean from New Bedford. What I found most interesting is he moved to Philly and lived in a boarding house with other CVs. Cuz I thought most of the Cape Verdeans just settled in New Bedford. Very interesting 😊

There are also Family History libraries around the US - some very small and some quite large. When I lived in Phoenix I would go to the family History in Mesa, AZ which was wonderful. Even some of the smaller libraries are able to borrow microfilm from the large library so this is a very good place to start!

I discovered thru Family Search that my 10th cousin is non other than Walt Disney. And he is related to me through my Grandma’s family. Walt’s Grandmother is cousins with my Grandma’s Grandma. Such a cool connection. It would be wonderful to get a nice chunk of the Disney empire. But from what I understand. Walt’s kids will NEVER share a dime.

Just seen a couple of these shows. I think they're awesome! For this episode though, the lady describing lynching seems to be real animated to express the difference between white folks and black folks. Amazing with the information she was able to provide the man, but real awkward on how she projects the information.

actually, it seems to be the whites that behaved so evil. there is another historical event where the whites segregated asians too. and then there's also the colonists that came to america and basically stole the land from native americans through violence

@@Lisa-eo9gdI might look into that, thanks for the info. Do they usually have help with finding stuff overseas? I'm struggling a bit now that I've made it all the way back to Germany. I've found my family because I recognize the names buuuut unfortunately trying to decipher old, yellowed, scanned in, hand written forms in a language I don't speak.

I've been able to get back into the 1500s in a few places in my family tree using Ancestry. I have even found documents pertaining to one of my family clans with records going back to 1200. The only place I'm having trouble with international records is in the Dutch line, apparently there was a very bad fire at some point and many many Dutch records were lost forever. It's very difficult to trace Dutch genealogy because of this. Other than that I have not really had any trouble accessing international records through Ancestry though I must admit my family is predominately Scottish and Irish so the records are all in English.
@Lisa-eo9gd
@Lisa-eo9gd Жыл бұрын
@@Ali_D_Katt My guess is that, if you have documents, anyone who reads the language could help you translate. If I were in that situation, I would ask a foreign student at our nearby university. Best wishes!

Enjoyable but I'm confused. They took the first guy back to the 1500s but the Vikings settled earlier than that so he still could be Viking, right?
@sandybruce9092
@sandybruce9092 8 ай бұрын
It’s pretty hard to get real proof when you go back this many years or more. You are probably dealing with a language not English, plus hand written info in various places - church records, etc. It has also been proven that the Vikings did come to North America way before the 1500s.
