It was ironic that they stood in front of Masjid Al Jami'at talking to immigrants about how Islaamic Philly is. Philly's strong Islaamic presence was not created by immigrants, it was established by the largest group of Muslims-- Black people and families who converted to Islaam.

Salam aleykum. Thanks for the documentary. I spent two Ramadan in Philadelphia in 2010 and 2011. I stayed in the mosque at night and met a lot of local Muslims. This was one of the best moments of my life. Very peculiar atmosphere at that time, and so much brotherhood.

Inna lilahi wa Inna alahi rajiun. When I saw the thumbnail with shaykh Mukhtar, I wondered how he was doing, as I had sat at a few khutbas he gave. I didn't know he passed away, may Allah subhana wa'tala forgive him of his sins and grant him the highest level of jennatul firdaous Ameen.

This was really good ! I live outside of Philly and spend a lot of time in North / North East so this was a good showcase ! I found this vid because I’ve been doing a ton of research and trying to learn things about Islam. I’ve been thinking about becoming a revert and this vid helped me out a lot when it comes to the brotherhood of Islam ! Very much appreciated !

I come to this video often and came immediately after I heard the news , May Allāh reward you for highlighting him in the documentary. May Allāh make his grave spacious , filled with light and allow him to answer the three questions correctly.

MashaAllah i was wondering since my point of view in Philadelphia was the worst place of homeless drug and people of depression which i just saw on social media, It was surprise that its not true but a place where you can find many Muslim around it. Highly doubt it brother. In the context of his life it makes sense that it wasn’t authentic. Additionally, his story and the facts that reached us may have been biased.

@@badees l was wondering because I excepted Islam in Fayetteville NC at Masjid Omar IBN Sayyid back in the mid 80s and authentic Hadiths were strongly rejected! I pray to the one that has my soul in his hand that the Muslims except the authentic narrations of our beloved Prophet (SAW). Aameen ya Rubb!
