Could never understand how some people embrace colonialism because this is why most British people are wilfully ignorant to the bloodshed tied in with invasion, colonisation and partitioning of countries. Again, this is why there is a thing called "British Exceptionalism". Having said all that, really enjoyed the video.

Kensington street design with the hidden alleyways is great for historical aspect. A type of city design pattern you don’t see in other American cities like in the Midwest and South. I think that could be one reason why Rocky was filmed there

The Betsy Ross House isn’t even her house. Her house was next door where the courtyard is now but it was torn down as a fire hazard. Her body was disinterred, moved and buried to this courtyard in 1976. So much in Philly was created for tourism.

Francis Hopkinton we called Cranky Frank or Franky back in Philly the creator of the American flag Betsy Ross's house isn't her actual house its a lie you wouldn't know that if your not from Philly. Oh and another thing we keep a big secret and Philadelphia cheesesteaks are really cat food don't tell anyone.
@FreeToursbyFootHQ3 жыл бұрын
You are correct another gentleman designed the flag. A signer of the Declaration of Independence from New Jersey named Francis Hopkinson. In the video you’ll notice I mentioned frequently sewing. She is a seamstress of the flag and she is the one who assembled it. Also notice that I started walking from the courtyard where the original house was actually located. The building that houses the museum today, was identical twin, it was a duplex. When restoration began all documents and historical references pointed to that building. It was not until over 50 years later that the true address was clarified. The entire site is used as a historical site and the home is a restoration. But you are correct somebody else designed the flag but considering this is an abridged version of our tour I chose to focus on Betsy Ross. I do make a clear distinction that she sewed the flag hence I use the word seamstress. I did not say creator or designer on the tour since yes that is incorrect. If you take our live walking tour, I go into more depth about Francis Hopkinson and the documentation of his design. But since this is an abridged tour we need to pick and choose.
