I so agree that people want a good winner for their season and i am glad if Rachel wins for that, but i don't understand when you know it is a seven to one vote why someone like Caroline doesn't give Sue a vote. If the deserving winner is going to lose because of your vote then fine, but when all the votes are going one way, why not give your vote to your friend.

Sam is a big young guy he I expected to win the fact he didn’t win any challenges and Rachel won 4 hurt him tremendously

I still think that Rachel's early edit was unforgivable. As a woman, i am still not happy with her edit verses Andy, Sam, and Rome. There is no excuse for it continuing to be like this except they aren't getting it. I don't like that we only really got the Genevieve vs Rachel edit like three episode from the in. Where was Genevieve's early edit. I remember everyone saying that the blue tribe was going to kill it at the end and i was like the blue tribe is no one. I think Rachel is the most deserving winner. She killed it. It doesn't forgive the early edit which was all guy all the time and really all guy until we got rid of the two guys. Sam was considered a young doofus the whole time and they never really showed it except when they showed him being an idiot talking about never trying fruit before. Rachel killed it and they didn't show it. I mean i see it, but i am really watching this show. They should have shown Rachel try to get in it with Sam and try to get in it with Andy instead of that whole storyline being the Andy and Sam show for most of the season. I love this show. This was a great season. They still need to do better. They aren't getting it. I know they are trying to make the end seem up in the air, but the guys should not get this kind of screentime when it is the girls that killed it this season. Sam, Andy, and Rome never had a chance.

Having checks that failed is a separate issue to Rome having a premeditated, written down list. That wasn't Rome being "put on the spot." He came prepared to that interview knowing about that segment, and rather than letting the segment play out as Gordon would normally do it (Gordon's order), Rome went off his written list. Just because the PR person didn't realize what was going on, doesn't remove the intentionally of what Rome did.

Rome was prepared for the interview. That's fine. When I'm remembering things for a season, I almost always write the players in boot order because it helps to organize. Everyone going after Rome should be asking, who told him the boot order, and why didn't the person whose job it is to make sure something like this doesn't happen, do their job. I don't think Rome was malicious at all. It would be very stupid to be this blatant about a spoiler. Should he have mixed up the order? Sure. But there are so many people who could have prevented this, that Rome doesn't deserve the hate he's getting.

@@survivorspecialists I think I lean towarda another commenter's theory I saw on a different video. That Rome, with as big of an ego that we saw he had, thought he was doing something incredibly clever. That he thought he was seeding an Easter Egg that no one would realize until he made his big reveal after the season was over and people would be impressed and fawn all over him for being so sneaky. I don't think he was malicious. But I think what he did was deliberate and incredibly stupid. With the only evidence being how he constantly overestimated his level of skill and ability and the constant underestimation of everyone else that we saw in the show.

No. The gender ratio of new era winners would be basically even right now (4-3) if one person's vote was different (Maria's). It just so happens that four women this era have played extremely dominant games (despite questionable edits) -- Erika, Maryanne, Dee, and Rachel were big threats who navigated their seasons with social-strategic brilliance, particularly in the post-merge, and in Rachel's case, record-tying immunity wins. There is no production interference or gender conspiracy.

sorry Phil but 46 is better than 47. more entertaining and FTC does not change that. if anything, FTC in this season was more frustrating because Sam had an amazing final tribal but everyone came in having their minds made up. i think Kyle revealed he voted for Sam to get 2nd place which would imply he knew everyone else was going to vote for Rachel which means they came in FTC with their minds already made up which in my opinion is disrespectful to the final 3. you can have an idea and lean towards someone but you can't come in with your mind already made up

Phil, I’m on the fence about the Rome situation but your logic about it makes no sense. The fact that Rome attempted to spoil is what’s making people mad. Whether or not he got caught by the guy reviewing the interview is irrelevant. It’s the malicious intention that matters. Although personally I’m not convinced Rome did it on purpose since it was Gordon that prompted Rome to read his list.

​​​@@blakemeier8003 Evidence that it was malicious? No. But he intentionally wrote down a list and took command of the segment rather than doing it the way Gordon would have normally do it. He did it purposefully. Potentially thinking he's smarter than everyone else and no one would notice and he could make the big reveal after the season was over. That's the most generous take I can give it. It was without a doubt intentional. But he may be so full of himself that he didn't realize people would notice immediately.

@ It’s definitely a possibility. What we do know is that Rome 100% went out his way to ask his cast about the boot order and then pretty much intentionally listed his word association in that order. That alone is a massive mistake worthy of criticism. But in the video while Rome is obviously excited to tell Gordon he already prepared his list it’s actually Gordon that says you might as well just read it since you already have it. I’m not saying it’s Gordon’s fault but It’s possible that if Gordon didn’t suggest Rome just read his list Rome would have just allowed Gordon to ask a word for each player.

Yea the three guys you named are huge dudes and were expected and favored to win a lot of challenges. Sam needed to win 1-2 challenges and he wins the game especially at the end
