“Brandon then rage quits because Phillip is pissing him off” might be the funniest line in this whole thing
@lafingscarecrow4 жыл бұрын
he didn't rage quit.
@wrc42864 жыл бұрын
@@lafingscarecrow He actually did. He dumped the rice in order to back his tribe mates into a corner of having no other choice than to vote him off. No one feels safe playing with an erratic player who shows violent tendencies. He even admitted just prior to flying into his rage that he felt bad about leaving his children and wanted to go home. Instead of just quitting (and possibly embarrassing himself before his uncle), Brandon told tribe members that he has already thought about peeing in the rice or setting the shelter on fire. That's a form of quitting through a forced vote. Kinda in the same vein as "suicide by cop". It's how you quit when you don't want to go down in history as a voluntary quitter. But most people see through this and still consider that as a quit. Becoming enraged at Phillip was just the spark that allowed his plan to be manifested. So, "rage quitting" is the perfect description of what happened on Brandon's second season.

Another strong move in Denise’s play was the fact that she let Malcolm have the idol when their tribe was split up. That seemed to make Malcolm have more of a target on his back overall, while Denise was able to fly completely under the radar throughout the game. I saw someone comment once: “I really liked Denise as a winner, but I just don’t remember her.” I really feel like that is inadvertently one of the best compliments for her playstyle.

When I watched Marquesas for the first time I was too young and my English was bad. The big reason why Sandra lost in Winners at War is because she completely contradicted her own philosophy of “anybody but me.” She used this strategy masterfully in Pearl Islands and Heroes vs. Villains, while having allies and connections but not valuing them over herself. However, in Winners at War, she felt the need to shake things up and change the pecking order at the swapped Dakal tribe, and in an attempt to get Tony or Jeremy voted off, she sold her Hidden Immunity Idol to Denise for two Fire Tokens so that she could protect herself. She was unaware that Denise already had another idol, and at Tribal Council, Denise played her original idol for herself, as well as Sandra’s idol for her former tribemate Jeremy. While Sandra believed that Tony was going home, Denise cast the sole vote for Sandra, and voted her off. Not only did Sandra break her own rule, she didn’t even do it for an ally like Christa, Rupert, or Courtney, but instead for someone she knew very little, and she paid the price.

I still think Denise taking out Sandra was such a massive mistake on her part. To me it feels like she just did it for the flashiness of the move, to take out the queen, when Sandra showed herself to be the most willing to work with Denise out of her, Tony and Kim, both of which had really strong bonds with people on the other two teams coming into the merge, plus Sandra being a much bigger target who other people might be tempted to eliminate at some point during the merge. To me, it's the most definitive move of the season and had Denise voted either Tony or Kim out instead we would've seen a much more different game, maybe one where Denise could've clawed her way to the final 3.

Don't think it would work. Because you're dealing with individuals, in a group dynamic, in a setting outside of any 1 persons control. You want to win? Learn how to adapt. Being the most physically capable wont always let you win; your team may view you as a challenge threat early on and get rid of you before even reaching the merge. If you're too openly strategic, you're a threat. If you're too sociable, you're a threat. Too middle of the road, and you get viewed as indecisive or a coattail rider. If you're too aggressive, the jury may find you to be a monster who can't respect others as actual people. Too amicable and certain juries may see you as a doormat too afraid to make big moves.

Some of the early winners are interesting. Chris in Season 9 charmed his way to victory and beat overwhelming odds. Tom in Season 10 had arguably the easiest win as the other tribe was systematically eliminated and his tribe didn't have to vote on each other until 2/3 of the way through. Then with a quit, and then voting out the last member of the other tribe, Tom had plenty of time to get his ducks in a row. Add a tribe member being silly enough to give Tom immunity, and viola. Aras had arguably the hardest run to victory in Season 12, and Yul in Season 13 repeated Chris' trick and charmed his way through. After this most winners are very bland. Mike in Season 30 only won through sheer physical strength, while Jeremy from Season 31 was the last truly deserving winner - Michelle from Season 32 just had "good luck" in that two strong players had to be evacuated and Ben fluked his way to victory in Season 35 with constant use of Idols. LUCK ALWAYS plays a pivotal role. I think the brightest spark for a long time was the lovely Christina Cha, who just had the misfortune of being cast with a group of horrible people in Season 24.

Point of contention#1: Brian did not have a strong social game. If Clay doesn't blow up on Jake on Day 27(?) he beats Brian. It was that close. Brian knew next to nothing about any of the people on the other side that he voted out while Clay did make relationships over there.
@ObeseFarts1800 Жыл бұрын
He's more of a mixed bag socially than just outright bad and also he doesn't lose the game if Clay didn't blow up on Jake since Jake would've voted Brian to win over Clay anyway. He does lose the game if Ken revealed what Brian said to him about Ted though at the final tribal council because in that situation Ted probably would've switched his vote to Clay giving him the win.

Funny thing is once they were all finished I was gonna go back and rewatch them all like this anyway, this makes things a whole lot easier. Thank you Peridiam. You just made my long day of cleaning that much more bearable.

Richard Hatch was the only person in the early seasons that figured out the game on Day 0... That's why he's The Stingray.

Thoughts Tina so sweeps the Jury in blood vs water if she wins the final immunity You gotta put respect on bob for doing what he did within spitting distance of 60 years old

So is the villains tribe the most successful tribe to ever play with 5 wins, 2x Sandra, Parv, Tyson and Bosten Rob (not counting WaW)
