Phil, you're such a cool traveller, making friends wherever you go. I was in Zam and Zim last month, Feb 2024. Livingstone was nice, friendly and relaxed. Cheap beer! I hope to be back for a longer stay and to get involved in some things. Zimbabwe (Vic Falls town) had a much more international vibe, plus a lot of street pestering and begging. Everything is rather pricey in Vic Falls, all in US Dollars, even $55USD for a Brit to enter from Zambia, USD only accepted! Then you'll have to pay $50 to see the falls. I didn't bother as I saw the falls from Zambia and then again from the bridge as I walked across the border. The best souvenir purchase is getting a small wad of billions of worthless old Zim dollars for about $5USD, They make great little gifts and talking points when you get home.
