Great to hear Fred Allen, especially with Bing, who not long before this, appeared on Fred's program.

The clean, full sound probably comes from the recording on audio tape, which Crosby was instrumental in bringing to the US after WWII. The 602 Philco radio was a 'portable' in the fact it had a handle on it. And the unrivaled wit of Fred Allen. While handicapped on the television side, ABC put together a good slate of shows on radio.

As heard on ABC's Wednesday night schedule at 10pm(et). Bing indeed returned in the fall for another season of "PHILCO" shows; he usually helped sell out their inventory of radios, phonographs.....and something called "television".
