Great video! I also use the same workflow for my videos, however I go for one more step - I render layers and then composit them in Blender as sometimes there can be issues with the edges of green screen elements or 3D environment is super-sharp in comparison to green screen element, so composting helps out a lot together with some color grading, glare, lens distortion, added film grain and other stuff that is required for the shot. I`ve seen your other tuts - I must say, to my eye, this is the best one!
@PhilFlock7 ай бұрын
That's awesome. I try to keep the render layers to a minimum but you're right. There is so much more which can be done in the post processing. I put some extra effort into this one. I've seen many bad greenscreen blender tutorials so I wanted to make sure there isn't gonna be another one ☺️

Love your videos Phil. My only confusion is regarding the green screen. How many would you recommend to evenly lit your green screen. And do I turn off room lights? I’m trying to put myself in my desert environment in blender but not sure the best lighting setup to do
@PhilFlock5 ай бұрын
Great question. Think about it logically. How many light sources are in the desert Answer 1. Just the sun. But in the desert you also get sand colored bounce light from the ground. So either have soft warm colored lights on the ground. Or bring a sand colors plate on the opposite of the sun light it bounce it back on you. Best advice is. Look at references. Once you know how you want to position your lighting in blender look up references on Google how people look with that kind of light environment in the desert. And then try to simulate that in your green screen. Hope that all makes sense. If something is not clear lemme know 👍🏻👍🏻

@@yamsmma5055 good luck. Once your blender scene is finalized you can send me a screenshot and I can help you better to set up your greenscreen lighting. Btw. If you have a portable greenscreen you can shoot your greenscreen footage in the sun outside too. Even standing on sand. That would help to make this effect real good

@PhilFlock7 ай бұрын
Very good question. The greenscreen plane does have a shadow if that's not enough make invisible objects and place them where they need to be and potentially an image them. With soft lighting like in my scene you can get away with it. With hard shadows it'll be a little trickier
