Your experience and the feelings you felt are common for most first time listeners. I've been following and supporting Diana for 4.5 years. Each year she becomes better and better. This is just the beginning for you, she has 100s of videos on her yt channels and suggest trying to use them instead, this helps support her. Diana is an independent artist and chooses tobe at this time, still at university (Gitis) in Moscow starting her 3rd year. It allows her to sing very dramatic/powerful, very (I mean VERY) deep, very dark, very rich. Second, she has a spectacular larynx. She's been called the vocal Eighth Wonder of the World. Third, she is polyphonic, which means she can produce multiple harmonics within her voice at the same time. This is what allows her to sound like two people at once. At the age of three in the middle of Russia's far Eastern Winter she was abandoned, injured, at a bus stop where she was rescued and sent to an orphanage. At the age of 5 she was still traumatized and unable to speak properly. Hello Philip, thank you for your fine reaction. You just heard one of the most extraordinary voices in the world. Diana has a very rare voice. She is a contralto and she is also polyphonic, which means she can produce several tones at the same time. It makes her voice sound so full. Diana's background: Diana was born on May 31, 2003 in the Far East of Russia. She was severely abused as a small child and abandoned on the street by her birth mother in winter when she was only 3 years old with a broken collarbone. She was then taken to an orphanage where, after more than one year, she was adopted by Irina Ponik, a massage therapist. At the age of four and a half, Diana still could not speak properly. She also stuttered. Experts recommended that she take singing lessons to improve her general speaking and vocal skills. This is a new TV show in Russia. There are 9 weeks with 9 shows and 9 well known artists. Diana is the youngest artist. They had to sing songs from 9 genres. The last TV show was on 20. November 2021. The 9 artists are also the judges for the other singer. And Diana (18 yo) won the overall competition of which Diana won 4 and took 2nd place once. She shocked the other singers with the first song. The Crow was her masterpiece in this competition, in my opinion. The judge who stands up is the great opera singer Yusif Eyvazov and the husband of Anna Netrebko, who is world famous. But you ignored a couple of my tips at the end of my query. 1) the best choice of this song from Diana's official channel, such a choice is first of all respect for the artist 2) TV show performances are often blocked in whole or in part by country. To avoid blocking the video picture, you need to edit (blur the image, make it translucent), here you have lost 80-90 percent of the views. 3) go to my playlists section, you will find reactions to some popular covers and Diana's own songs, which are collected by song title.
