I think sometimes folks want the bigger holiday gatherings just to make themselves look good &/or they just love the drama of it all. I for one keep my gatherings small & they are much more meaningful. Less is more and I’d much rather have quality over quantity- any day.

You forgot to mention a squirrel hiding out in the Christmas tree, meanwhile the cat is chewing on the power cord, then Clark turns on the Christmas lights on the tree to see where the noise is coming from, frying their cat in the meantime. Oh and don't forget cousin Eddy dumping sewage into the storm drain from his motor home. Haha!

As a Christian, forgiving someone else just for yourself is a Lie and it's also Selfish. We all Sin and Transgress against others - Everyone of us. Jesus Christ gave us "The Gift of Forgiveness" by dying for us to set us free from the penalty of our sins. He forgave us through the Crucifixion on the Cross and we are to Forgive each other by doing the same, In His Name. Jesus is our example. We are to live for HIM, by abiding in His Word and not for ourselves. In Ephesians 4:26-27 "Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your anger: neither give place to the devil. GOD will not forgive us, if we don't forgive each other and He also won't hear our prayers, because he can't because our anger is a block from HIM. When we don't forgive, the devil has a free for all in our lives and can cause One Great Big Mess for us and for other people. Don't kid yourself - This is the Truth. FEAR (RESPECT) THE LORD. Put HIM First - The Greatest Commandment. HE is the beginning of all Wisdom. The Truth.

You missed his entire point, which is you can't truly forgive someone if you remain resentful and angry because some individuals will never apologize or even care. Sometimes we just have to forgive others for our own peace of mind in order to let go of the pain others cause.

You need to understand the human condition and behavior above all else before using the Bible as an excuse to judge others. There's no excuse for that.

Prayer changes nothing. However, it does help you feel like you have some control over something, no matter how delusional that is. ACTIONS change things...not wishes...not making vision boards...not prayer: ACTIONS.
