It always among dirt you find treasure. I did not think I’d come across a song as emotionally heartfelt as this. Thank you “the Church”

epic movie... seriously. a movie that could remove 90% of the gore and effects and still be terrifying and fascinating. enter a sanctum of pure evil disguised as a place of worship, designed to protect mankind by imprisoning this evil within it...this music emphasizes the existential questions riddled throughout the film...especially with the main priest guy who is clearly devoted to his faith...but is it faith that enables him to sacrifice himself in the end? everything he believes in has been challenged up to that point and yet he refuses to accept failure. I believe his soul took residence within the ruins of the church. an era of peace can begin....

the witches were never evil. it was always a gas that revealed in men their biases and great fears. so when a pure hearted girl looked into it, she found peace and joy in line with her imagination. the real evil was men looking for witches, looking for imaginary enemies where none existed. it is his sickening imagination for cruelty that conjures images of heretics and devils. he is the devil he is seeking to destroy, and so he destroys himself. if theres anything supernatural, it is divine fortune that favors innocence and justice

@@moosesgalore wow, this completely reinvents the movie in my mind. that is absolutely fascinating and very compelling. going to watch it again with this new perspective

@@echernaut i also believe that the thought that the stigmata was a marking of evil is very strange! the stigmata is usually inflicted on saints in catholic doctrines as a sign of martyrdom. the idea that by stepping on something you are violating it is a real superstition; yet, the woman shown seems to have bandaged herself, so maybe she is trying not to blaspheme. another common thing is that the symbolic representation of the horned knight is more imposing/demonic (he has black armor, no face, and even then the knights are murderers) than a little girl.... but maybe theres something to be said for 2 corinthians 11:14, " And no marvel, for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light." but im guessing the creators (esp because of argentos involvement) were going for something stranger and knew a bit about the bible even then what im reading into it. the appearance of a baphomet like devil was odd, why did the knights create such a profane, pagan image? how did they know what it should look like, and why put it on a cross? seems also very blasphemous/hypocritical. it has many interpretations which is why its so good!!

also something to be said for the knight we do see the face of: he is almost lucifer like in his good looks imo

4 minutes before playing this song- “Why can i never find the song that’s played when the Templar Knights are massacring the townsfolk” *music starts* … OH SHIT THIS IT!!!! Omg it Took me 2 freakin years to find this !!! Why is this song not on the soundtrack ? 🙄
@nohozana2 жыл бұрын
Probably because it's a cover of a philip glass song, and they couldn't secure the rights to have it on the soundtrack.
@Retro_Man_76 Жыл бұрын
It's on the early original 1989 vinyl release, and the first CD from Japan in 1992. Later reissues of the vinyl and CD unfortunately removed it.

One of the reasons I ordered the soundtrack for this movie was because of this track only to find out it WASN’T included! 😡 I love the rest of it though!

I prefer this version to the original. Glass' version is great, but a bit too crowded for me. this one is an EPIPHANY. awesome choice of image, btw.

Funnily enough I agree. Maybe it’s because my first proper exposure was this version, but it feels more balanced. There is a thing called too much layering and I think the original is so multi-layered and dense that it begins to burst at the seams. This conveys the serenity, mystery and beauty without sacrificing the complexity too much, it’s a funny thing music isn’t it?

Is that really Keith Emerson? I don't belive it
@Socko9736 жыл бұрын
ahh you're right, good catch! I thought it was Emerson because he did most of the rest of the soundtrack for La Chiesa but this was by Martin Goldray. www.discogs.com/Keith-Emerson-Goblin-La-Chiesa-The-Original-Motion-Picture-Soundtrack-Recording/release/693886
@christianhartman16036 жыл бұрын
No. It's not Keith Emerson. He wrote other music for the film. Also Fabio Pignatelli's Goblin did music for it. This is Martin Goldray's performance of FLOE.
